I am trying out 1626 as a Portable installation on a SSD drive.
I am noticing that monkey is thinking before responding when doing regular tasks such as Opening Properties or Opening or Changing Tabs. Is this performance lag peculiar to a portable version?

I use 1626 portable on SSD drive too and haven't noticed any slowdowns/sluggish. MM starts in 2 seconds and all is fast (same as with the regural version).

I don't see a reason for a performance regression in 1626. Are you saying this is not issue for you with the previous builds?
How big is your DB ?

Same setup here and haven't noticed it either. I do suggest you run File > Maintain Library with complete optimization enabled.
