1017 [X] Override Skin theme fails

Post by chrisjj »

Options | Appearence | Skin | '[X] Override Skin theme with Windows System theme (requires restart)' fails e.g. checking it does not override the skin with the Windows theme, even to the partial extent that it did on V2.5.5.

A partial workaround is to use 'MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe' instead.

Chris, MM V3.0.0.1017

Tracked at http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6801 .

We're know about it. It's becouse this functionality isn't supported in debug version.

To avoid users wasting your time with such reports, is there somewhere we can read a list of the offered functions that are non-functional?

Not in the release notes Known Issues, as far as I can see.

This version is not a debug build.

At least not according to the filename or About box.

MM 3.0 is Alpha and a debug built. If Petr says that, then it's so.

See last but one FAQ:

All Alpha (and beta maybe too) releases will be debug builds.

Ah, I'd assumed that since it is released as "beta" and since its download path says "beta" and since this forum name says "beta", that it was beta.

Thanks for the the correction!

Are you guys all talking about the same installer?

MediaMonkey_3.0.0.1017_Debug.exe

From the post that says....

"Before you rush into downloading it, remember that it's an Alpha build and contains a variety of changes that have not been thoroughly tested. "

Yup. Indeed there is inconsistency.

...which you'd see only if you download from there. If you download from elsewhere, you read the release notes within - which make no mention of it being alpha. The fix: include the covering note in the readme.

Not that alpha/beta etc. makes any difference to the point. Being that disablement of functionality need to be declared, else testing will find it as bug(s).

BTW, I do think it is a great piece of work! ;)

No reply, so I guess not. And not found in Mantis, so now tracked: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6801

When entering bugs you should test on the latest version which is 3.2.4. You're saying override skin still fails in 3.2.4?

Why are you reporting these old issues? You are wasting yours and everyone's time... especially since this is already fixed.

Nope. Are you saying it doesn't? I see no fix in Mantis.

Says who? Not Mantis or any changelog I've seen.
