Dealing with Duplicates

In many cases I have five or more duplicates of a single song. I really need a way of paring out unwanted duplicates.

Trouble is, which ones to get rid of.

One criterion is to get rid of the ones recorded/ripped with too high volume, say, above some decibel number, 25 db? Playing those sound like crap.

Or get rid of the ones with too low of volume.

Or those having the most incomplete tag set.

Or those having lower bit rates.

Point is, there are various criteria by which to cut out duplicates.

How in the world to go about such a complicated task???

Suggestions appreciated.

First I would suggest looking at the nodes under "music". One of the nodes is Files to Edit. Then look at Duplicate files at the bottom of that node. If i remember right when you click it it will go through your db to get the files.
From there it really is up to you to manually select the ones you don't want and delete.
You can add columns to the files list. RIght click the column header and select the ones you care about most .. you can then drag them around to get the order you want.
