[REQ] Filtered Statistics Report

Post by snowleopard »

I am looking for reporting tools for MMW5 such as the Filtered Statistics Report. Is that something that a developer is looking at making?

I know that reporting tools, or being able to export information to CSV files is a low priority, but I have seen at least 3 or 4 requests for different types of reporting capabilities, it would be nice to see if something was bumped up in priority for picking the columns you want and being able to export the data, and being able to type in a value for like top 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, 100, etc.

Hi,
In MM5.0.2.2508 You can select any type of tracks (even TOP 100 Auto Playlists) and then use Send to -> File List -> Choose format and filename and save.

Which is good and appreciated, but there are some limitations to be aware of:
  • no Grouping, so no album level output (ie. vs track level output)
  • fixed and restricted list of tags which may be exported. These are exported:
    • album
    • song title
    • artist
    • duration
    • year
    • genre
    • rating
    • bitrate
    • source (ie. local disk, network disk, cloud, etc
  • so lots of useful tags, but some omissions
    • no albumartist .... so some difficulties if need to summarise to one line per album
    • no Composer or Conductor
    • no BPM
    • no Custom columns
    • no play count or date last played
    • no date ripped (ie. Date Added)
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

I know this is a really low priority feature / add-in, but it is something that I am specifically looking for. This is basically the built in report with the option to select any number of results 1-1000 or any number that you want which I really used a lot in MMG 4.x

If I understood how to develop these reports then I would do it myself, but I don't know how to do that.
