When i open this playlist it tells me i have 50 (or however many albums i've added) playlists. Do i really have 50 playlists?
Shouldn't it show the number of albums i've added

Re: Playlist - 'last 5 days'
Perhaps you have the option to Create playlists of tracks newly added to the library enabled under Tools > Options > Tags & playlists?

Re: Playlist - 'last 5 days'
A screenshot may show better what the problem is.
It doesn't sound like a MediaMonkey Playlist, but instead something that was either created in MediaMonkey by the user or scanned in during scanning.

The issue is with the nomenclature. I think "Playlist" should read "Files"
ie, I have one playlist (La st 5 Days) with "x" no of files in it, not one playlist with "x" no of playlists in it

The AutoPlaylist doesn't create Playlists, however at some point you may have nested Playlists under this AutoPlaylist as MediaMonkey allows this for organizational purposes.

I see what you are seeing ... not exactly the same, I only see it in the panel Footer, but maybe that is because we are using different skins.
When Playlists are in Grid (By Album) view, the Footer summary line says N Playlists, when it should say N Albums.
Is that it?
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

@Barry
Yep, that's it. calling the files playlists is incorrect & confusing.
