Searching Podcasts that Aren't Downloaded [#18124 #18125]

Post by Brian Siano »

When I add a podcast to my library, the program downloads a list of podcast titles and descriptions from the source. I can then choose when episodes to download. But Media Monkey doesn't enable Searching of this information.

The thing is, when I Search for a word in a podcast, MediaMonkey only searches the podcasts episodes that have been downloaded. It doesn't search the episodes that have not been downloaded, even though searchable information is available.

Could this be added in a future version?

Search only includes files in your Library. Episodes not downloaded are not part of the Library and thus excluded from the Search.

However a request is a request.

I see two bugs here:

1) Contextual filtering works (i.e. typing in a view when a podcast subscription is viewed) like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gfp4ao4w6ewch ... 8.png?dl=0
But it only works in the 'List' view

It does not work in the 'Browser' view: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jkd51fmzsk0zr ... 0.png?dl=0

Entered as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18124

2) When you right-click the episodes that are not yet downloaded and select [+ Add to library] then the episodes are added to library and searchable, but after downloading there is a duplicate episode added

But could the Search feature access the Comments section of those not-downloaded episodes? Clearly, Media Monkey has that text in its database-- it's even there when I shut off my Internet access. Couldn't the Search feature be allowed to include that data in its searches?

Part of my reason for suggesting this is that I'm looking for episodes which I _haven't_ downloaded yet, or episodes that were deleted a long time ago.
