Battery Issues with iPod Touch 2nd Generation

Post by GDTRFB66 » Mon Apr 25, 2011 8:09 pm

I have went through 4 iPod Touch 2nd generations since July 2009. I ended up doing an out of warranty battery replacement. All my other replacements were within the 90 day warranty of the replacement device.

Anyways, what is happening is the battery is dying out on them. It seems to me the 2nd generation cannot handle the newest OS. The battery usually dies completely when the WIFI is left on.

The other issue I had was getting corrupted album art from MediaMonkey. Is it possible MediaMonkey destroys 2nd generation iPods?

Batery: Can't tell.

Re Album Art: Try latest MM 3.2.5.1306 or latest MM4 Beta 4.0.0.1367

I have the latest version of MediaMonkey, I still get corrupted album art on my iPod Touch. I think the smartest move is not to use MediaMonkey to synch with my iPod Touch

Have you tried the very latest beta version (MM4 Beta 4.0.0.1367)?

I have not updated to the Beta version. Is there documentation about improved album art conversion to iPhones/iPods?

When my iPod was working sometimes my iPod lost all my songs then I would sync back with MediaMonkey and they showed back up.

Some other actions I did that may have screwed up my iPod was when a song didn't show album art. I clicked on the iPod in MediaMonkey and it shows the songs on that device I tried to tag the album art from the file on the iPod.

I should have deleted the song on the iPod, then
re-tag the album art from the folder it was located in on my computer in MediaMonkey.
