iTunes 10 - confirmed safe!

Post by MaFt »

iTunes 10 will be here very soon. Last time Apple updated iTunes it affected iPod and iPhone syncing with MediaMonkey.

It might be worth waiting for a few brave souls to install and try it before you install and complain to the MM guys if stuff gets broked again!!

Just warning you all, that's all! If we have learnt anything from Apple's recent updates it is that they will try to block 3rd party software by making 'minor' changes to the way things work.

In terms of MM compatibility I would treat any new Apple updates (firmware AND software) as being 'beta' - i.e. before you jump in and upgrade check the forums to see if there are any known issues!!

yes, we all know that but sadly we need iTunes to sync apps and backup/restore iphone/ipods/ipads. as such we still need to have it installed.

that, however, is not the purpose of this thread...!

try force closing iPod app (double tap home button to bring up task manager then press and hold ipod icon til it wobbles then press the red minus). then restart the ipod app.

if you're on 3G with no multitasking then restart the phone to totally kill iPod.

Is 4.1 on older phones and iPod touches working? Thanks!

I haven't upgraded from 4.0.2. But 4.1 is supposed to correct some problems on iPhone 3G.

Thanks! So according to the last post, it seems old devices work on 4.1(he said he had a 3rd gen touch), but we should wait before buying any of the just released ones?
