Actually the first image posted is an example of where the artwork in the app is different to the one on the pc. As its a various album I set the artwork to a general one of the group, whereas the app is still picking up an album cover.

Then your device likely has a hardware button for it. For example on my old Note it was the button left of the home button (right of home being the back button) or: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=13248

Just to add to this thread as it may be the same or a related issue, since I updated MMA to 1.2.0.0618 most of my albumart has disappeared and I'm seeing the monkey outline instead. Everything was fine before the update.

If I scroll through the all tracks list some of the albumart is being repopulated but a large proportion is still blank. When checking MMW all the artwork is there, if I use the stock media player it sees the artwork fine also.

I tend to add my artwork straight into the ID3 tags and I notice MMA extracts the art into its working folder, I have nearly 2000 tracks but only 120 artwork files in that folder so for some reason MMA is not extracting the artwork now.

This has actually happened a few times after MMA updates but usually if i play a track or view it the artwork will return but not after this latest update

Note that MMA relies on an Artwork cache created by MMW on sync to display Artwork in App. MMA can't read Artwork from the files themselves.

I keep trying various things but still no progress with the artwork unfortunately - everything else is syncing as it should. Waiting for support to get back to me. Thanks all

I've just noticed (and sorry for not spotting this before) that the albums picking up the wrong artwork have the wrong artwork in the actual music folder, so MMA is picking up the artwork file instead of the embedded artwork.

I have deleted manually the wrong artwork from my phone - and those albums are now showing as blank covers, even though there definitely is embedded artwork (checked via mp3 tag as not at home to check via MMW). I though MMA would pick up the embedded album art but its not - is there a setting to force it to pick up the embedded album art?

Moving forward, as most of the existing folders have album art files, when I want to change the album art via MMW, should I do it as a file (does this replace the existing one?) or as embedded. And do I need to manually delete the existing wrong artwork file (hope not).

That would explain it then. Surprised MMS can't read embedded artwork.

MMA can't yet read tags on its own, this is slated for a future release.

Having checked through music library the pc - most of my albums don't have an artwork file, so the artwork must be embedded as a tag.

So I have:

1. Albums which were showing the wrong cover art had a art file in the folder. This has now been deleted but on sync, MMA is picking up the previous wrong cover art - not sure where it is finding this from if he file is deleted?

2. Albums which have always been showing the right art, do not have an art file, the cover art is embedded - so is MMA reading this somehow?

3. As a test, I added the album art as a file to the folder via MMW and synced, MMA still does not pick it up - does i need to be called something else apart from 'folder.jpg'?

Apologies if i'm missing something obvious.

As said, MMW creates the Artwork cache on sync for MMA to display Artwork. MMW takes Artwork from 1 file on the Album for all synced files on the Album. So Artwork needs to be in order in MMW for MMA to show the correct Artwork.

With all the modifications you've made you may want to start with a fresh sync between MMA and MMW so MMW correctly updates the MMA Artwork cache.

I've been following this thread but i haven't seen any resolution or ideas of what's going on with albums syncing incorrectly. It has to be some mediamonkey bug but not with syncing because one thing i found out after trying many of the suggestions on this forum is i opened the Music app that comes with my Samsung phone and all the songs and their albums are displaying correctly, i have tried the same with my daughters phone and same thing. the phone music app reads the files correctly. I know it is not only android related because i have tried syncing to and Iphone and the album art still gets messed up. I normally sync from a playlist and i have made sure no album art is missing on said playlist. Just trying some of the theories on the forum. still same results mma says updated some files but nothing happens, sync problems are occurring wired or wifi. My theory and i'm not in any way an expert seems like the problem is with the refreshing of the lists on the app memory or the play now that stops the app from refreshing the files updated. Any other ideas? I love MM and i have them on my PC as well as all my family phones, i bought the pro license as well.

I am having this same album art issue. ALL of my album art syncs perfectly via USB, but some of them are missing with WiFi sync.
It can't be the "multiple album arts per album" issue mentioned above, because it is an issue for albums that I only have one song from...that song has no album art. (I did check that, though, just in case.) It doesn't only apply to albums with various artists (like the OP described), but songs off of albums from a single artist.
It works perfectly fine with USB sync, but as soon as I do WiFi, it replaces the album art (placed there by USB sync) with the grey MM symbol. It is consistent in which songs have the issue...it's always the same ones. I just can't find out WHY.
