Edit Config (XML) Files?

Post by ChevaTomme »

Hi,

Is it possible to add folders to be scanned by editing a configuration file?
I have a problem with windows explorer in my PC, after installing "Windows Tweaker" 5.1, and after that MM8 will not open file/folder selection window when pressing "Add folder" button in "Scan for media", so i need a way to get around this and manually adding the scan folders to a config file could be useful as a workaround.

Thanks

I found the solution, i think...

The problem seemed to be related to the "libraries" in Windows 8, they where somehow corrupt and did not show up in Windows Explorer and MM8 seems to rely on them when working with folders and files.

I found the solution in: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/26 ... 7-8-a.html where i used the registry file: restore-libraries.reg

Now i can see and select folders and files in MM8 again! :-)

A reflection from this is that MM8 is probably relying a little to much on these libraries, maybe a safer fallback solution has to be added. ;-)
