Kindle Fire HDX

Post by chrisfleischhacker »

I was able to download and sideload MM on my Kindle Fire HDX. How do I Go Pro? Can't access Google Store. Kindle forces Amazon store.

Hi,

We'll add MMA to the Amazon store once it's out of beta.

Thanks!

Hi Rusty

Have been a Pro user on desktop & laptop for ages.
Sideloaded one of the beta versions onto my Kindle Fire some time ago.

Really would like to continue support by buying pro on Kindle Fire.

Any news on when this will be available from Amazon in the UK?

Thanks

Still waiting?

Can someone please tell the developers that us Kindle Fire Users still exist?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay--we'd started work on this, but there were a number of critical bugs in the beta that we needed to work out. We'll get back to this as soon as all the major regressions are resolved.

Thanks.

It's now 3 months later. When will the version for Kindle Fire HD and HDX become available?

Sorry--it's a question of priorities, and this has gotten pushed a number of times. It's slated to be included in the 1.1.0 release, which we're currently working on.

You can get the APK via the beta forum.

note: we don't have any kindle fire devices for testing--it would be helpful if you and others gave us some feedback re. any issues that occur on kindle devices.

Thanks.

If it helps, I used the beta version on my Kindle Fire HD without any problems (mainly using as a DLNA player).

However, I now have Samsung tablet and my wife is using the Fire on her own Amazon account.
I no longer need a Kindle version but I'm sure many people would like it so please don't forget it. :)

A little request: could do with resume after playing via DLNA.

Can you elaborate? Thanks.

If you watch part of a film and exit, when you next view the film it resumes from where you left off so that you don't have to remember how far you got.
I rip my dvd's to my NAS drive so that I can sit in bed and watch on my tablet but I don't always watch the whole film in one go.

I do have another DLNA player installed that can do this but as a fan of MM, I would prefer to use it.

Sorry I never answered this. ATM MMA only bookmarks tracks that are in the library. I suppose the solution would be for tracks on the NAS to appear in the library.

Re. Amazon, we've just posted MMA/Pro to the Amazon store. Please let me know if it works for you.

Thanks.

Longtime MM user; relatively new to the Kindle Fire HDX conversation, though I received my 8.9 a week before the, uh, "official" release.

Rusty, just now, after reading your note of almost a year ago, I again checked the Amazon Appstore with no success. Notable, though, is that within the last week, I received Amazon notification of the upcoming release of the very interesting-looking Fire OS 5 (aka "Bellini"). Thinking that perhaps Amazon pulled the MMA inclusion out of the Appstore setup accessed by my HDX (perhaps as a prelude to a soon-to-be-released FOS5), I logged into the Appstore linked to my 2nd-gen Fire with the same negative result. Perhaps I'll call one of my contacts at Amazon in the morning to see if I can distill those first two "perhapses" into some some semblance of utility.

I'll letcha know....

Hmmm.... Seein's how the new OS is comin' soon — significantly lowering my concern for possible side-loading mayhem — maybe I could get one of you MMA folks to pop me an APK in an email...?
