Thanks Mark. I am using the Beta.

I wanted to synch my iPhone and was told that it would. It does, but I would much rather get back to your plugin. Bulletproof!

Install the 4.0.7.1511 installer and it will work.
I've not got to the bottom of why the beta does not work yet.

I can't just install it over the beta can I?

If I uninstall the beta, I imagine I'll lose all my playlists which is how I've been syncing.

But that's OK< I can reinstall them.

Hi
I upgraded today to the latest iTunes version:

MediaMonkey 4.0.7.1511
d_itunes4.dll 4.0.4.2438
iTunes 11.1.2.32 (64 bit)

Here's what happened:

1st try: Crashed after some seconds:
d_itunes4.dll 2438 12:27:55 EXCEPTION Log cleared
d_itunes4.dll 2438 12:27:58 EXCEPTION DEVICE_ListPlaylists EAccessViolation Access violation at address 0B082D99 in module 'd_itunes4.dll'. Read of address FFFFFFFC
d_itunes4.dll 2438 12:27:58 EXCEPTION DEVICE_ListContent EAccessViolation Access violation at address 0B141A20 in module 'd_itunes4.dll'. Read of address 000000C5

2nd try: Restarted MM and iTunes, set Debug=2 and restarted sync - crashed after some seconds (can send you the DBGView file if required)

3rd try: Did NOT restart MM and iTunes - it worked!

Although I'm happy it worked, it's strange that it crashed twice and worked in the 3rd attempt.

Have a good weekend!

I am assured that there have been no API differences between 4.0.7 and 4.1.0. However I experience very different behaviours between the two of them. So there is some difference.

Check http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 76#p376776 for an update ...

Can somebody check build 1668 against the d_itunes published 2438 build?

It looks like Ludek and I have located the problem and fixed it :-)

I have uploaded the fixed copy to the usual location. Ludek has to approve it before you can download. http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... or-itunes/ Update: This has now been approved.

This new version
* Is compatible with MM4.0 and MM4.1 (thank you Ludek for isolating the problem)
* Has the working version of the Mac OSX mode (as yet undocumented)
* Has the debug output directed to the a file in the %TEMP% folder rather than the normal MM logging method (more compatible with Macs)

Cheers, Mark

Can I request some feedback that the new version is working as expected?

I tested against MM4.1.0.1668 and iTunes 11.1.1. No problems in Windows or Mac mode.

Still doesn't work here. I'm using d_itunes4.dll ver 4.1.0.2568, MM 4.0.7.1511 and iTunes 11.1.2.31 64bit.
After copying all songs according to my settings the process always ends with the same error:
d_itunes4.dll 2568 [time] 0 EXCEPTION getItunesSource not found LIBRERIA

I guess that "LIBRERIA" is the name of my library set somewhere. Anyway the error line is repeated several times.
I also tried all recovery options of the plugin and also deleted the entire iTunes profile manually, but nothing works.

@markstuartwalker: if you don't mind I send you the more detailed d_itunes4-debug.log, hoping you can give it a look.
Maybe it's something specific to my environment but I tried almost everything to make the plugin to work.

Can you switch to debug level 2 and repeat the test. I specifically want to know the value if the registry item the "sourceName" registry item which seems to be "LIBRERIA" in your case. You might try deleting this entry and try re-testing.

There have been issues with non-english iTunes. This entry is for the main library source. iTunes uses the locale to name it's internal sources.

I am looking for

Code: Select all

d_itunes4.dll 2558 14:42:05 3 Config.sourceName Library

d_itunes4.dll 2558 14:42:06 3 1 iTunesSource name=Library
Further ... if you open the d_itunes device by clicking the '+' to expand the entry, I think that you will see the sources listed below the device. Does your's show "LIBRERIA" or something different?

Mark (thanks for replying),
I set debug level=2 and repeated the test, but I still get the same errors.

Code: Select all

d_itunes4-exception.log reports:
d_itunes4.dll 2568 17:35:03 0 EXCEPTION Log cleared
d_itunes4.dll 2568 17:35:03 0 EXCEPTION getItunesSource not found LIBRERIA
...(same line, 5 times...)
d_itunes4.dll 2568 17:36:55 0 EXCEPTION getItunesSource not found LIBRERIA
d_itunes4.dll 2568 17:36:55 0 EXCEPTION DEVICE_NotifyPlaylist EAccessViolation Access violation at address 0A987636 in module 'd_itunes4.dll'. Read of address 00000000
d_itunes4-debug.log is a little too long to post it here, I send it to you by pm.

In regards of expanding my d_itunes device entry: both before and after running the test I have no "+" sign (or equivalent), so I can't expand nothing!
Files are copied in the MMiTunes folder, but playlists are not created in iTunes.

Last thing: what do you mean by deleting the entry named "LIBRERIA"? Do I have to search it in the plugin GUI from within MM, in a config file or in the Windows Registry?

@cianoz

What I see does not make sense.

Code: Select all

d_itunes4.dll 2568 11:54:29 3 Config.debug 0
Indicates a debug level of 0 which explains the huge lack of diagnostic information.

Can you use regedit to look in the registry at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MediaMonkey\Device\d_itunes4.dll on ammsist\". Please confirm the value for Debug and sourceName. Do this while MM is not running. Set debug to 3 repeat the test.

In the media tree for MM there should be a "+" to the left of the "d_itunes4.dll on ammsist" device.
