here's a compilation list of several websearch panels i have compiled from reading the posts, thanks to several of you. I have edited a few of them, but they all work great (the allmusic and the mp3sparks might give you a script error but will still work-if you know how to troubleshoot or automatically allow to continue these script errors, let me know.)
I am always looking for new panels.

another one! this one is for rateyourmusic.com. it'll show you all the albums of that particular artist and what year they were released. pretty handy

I know there are more websearch panels not listed here. i would love to try them out. just post a reply here and leave some panels.

I would love to find one that automatically lists a song by when it was originally recorded and what was the original album it was on. allmusic would do ok if it didnt always have script errors

I can't believe I actually got it to work because I know absolutely zero about this code stuff but after several hours and every possibe combination of the search string code.....

Worked like a charm.
Lyrics are supplied by Gracenote however and they can't be highlighted.
Good results for Bio's, Albums etc

ok i am a noob how do i get the script to run in media monkey i am lost thanks in advanced

1. 1st, download and install the installer from jn at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ch&start=0

2. then find the program file with the scripts/auto folder in it, usually it should be here:
C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto
the websearch.xml is the file with all the sites listed above

3. you can copy whichever sites you want to try from above (copy from <site> to </site>) then paste it into the websearch.xml file (a few of these may not work correctly anymore. if you find one that gives you an error, let me know. the only one that i know of that gives me an error is Letras

4. now save the websearch.xml file then restart mediamonkey

5. you should see a tab at the top labeled "search the web"

6. play a song and click on that tab, and choose which site you want to use, i like musicbrainz track and artist the most.

you should also try out rightclickforweb. it is awesome if you have a lot of tags to organize

FreeDB is very large database, might be good if you have album but don't know track names.
AOL seems like a pretty good source for Artist info. For me it was just an exercise to see if the last effort wasn't a fluke, it isn't as hard as I thought it was!
