Help with Windows 7 compatibility

i have recently purchased a brand-new laptop with Windows 7 (64-bit) and have installed my lifetime-licensed MM. i have noticed that my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy S) was unable to be detected by MM. is there something wrong? is this a bug/problem with Windows 7? i'm able to listen to online radio, scan for new files and everything else. please help. thanks.

after doing a quick windows update and restarting the computer everything seems to be working now. just a reference to anyone who experienced the problem that after doing those simple steps my MTP device ( i.e. Samsung Galaxy S) is now detected by both my Windows 7 and my 3rd-party softwares.
