iPhone/iPod Touch 2.0 Firmware

Post by rusty »

Hi,

Just a quick announcement that iPhone 2.0 firmware or iPod Touch 2.0 firmware is in beta testing, you can test the new plugin by downloading the beta version of MM at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 30#p170859.

Please report your findings in the beta testing forum. Thanks,

Hmm...

Intesresting... my 3.03.1183 version does recognise my iphone.. and says it syncs... however.. now itunes thinks the iphone is corrupt and the "ipod" player doesnt see any tracks.

Are these symptoms of it "not working" ?

Kinda sounds like what I was experiencing

For me after updating my touch to 2.0 when I went to MM to sync up it looked like it was working like it always does, copying songs, converting songs, etc.

Once it was done I went to my music and NO SONGS. synced 1 song with iTunes went back to try to sync 1 song with MM and again, no songs.

I do hope they get a fix for MM and 2.0 because I truly hate the iTunes software

I would say so. I saw the same thing with my iPhone 3G. I did a restore from iTunes and I am back safe and sound. But I agree... iTunes sucks for music.

Same problem here. Synced fine with iPhone v1.3, but didn't actually sync with 2.0 although it said it did. And it caused my iPhone to no longer sync with iTunes. I had to do a complete restore and lost some stuff that was on there. So not only does MM not sync with iPhone 2.0 software, it breaks the iPhone and prevents it from syncing with iTunes unless you perform an erase and restore.

I think the devs are aware of the iPhone/Touch 2.0 issue.

Any idea how long this may take to fix.
i hate using itunes, all my albums and tracks are messed up in there.but with MM everything works a treat.
thinking about a down grade but it seems tricky.

It seems that Apple has made some changes that prevent third-party applications from interfacing with the new iPhone firmware.

We are looking into the issue, but cannot provide a firm timetable for resolution of this.

I got the iPhone 3g last week and it only took me 2 days to figure out how much I dislike iTunes, so I went searching for another tool. I came across MediaMonkey and was about to buy it, but couldn't sync with the free trial version. Thanks for the post informing us this does not work. Any chance it will be fixed in a couple days so I can continue my trial? If not, I am hoping I can get the trial period reset or something...

Good luck with the fix.

BTW... Did I metnion iTunes sucks??!!
