In older versions of M.M., a line appeared at bottom to show progress as track plays, and remaining time of track but this does not appear on my recent MM version.

Is there a way to install that feature ?

This depends on Skin. Try Vitreous Skin.

In previous editions of MM there was a moving bar at the bottom of screen.
It showed the length of the track playing, progress of track and time left.

Peke kindly suggested vitreous but it appears to have dark background.
Is there a simple, uncluttered skin with pale/light background ?

Generally, I only use columns for Music - Title, Artist, Track length, Bitrate and File size.

Can you make screenshot of what you see in MMW now?

Try to disable all in Tools -> Options -> Skin
