Pls help find missing files Windows 10 upgrade?

after upgrade from 8.1 to 10 a month ago; now i'm missing 4,000 of 10,000 music files (~ 42GB total.). I had backed up manually to external hard drive my entire music library before the upgrade, totalling 57 GB. After a few weeks I realized the missing files...asked MMW Gold to find missing files, but it found very few; even when pointed to the saved files. Running the Backup 6.0 regularly. Is there any way to use that Backup 6.0 to reclaim the missing files; instead of starting from scratch by importing the 57 GB from the external drive, and having to remove duplicates and unwanted tracks?

The Backup Addon doesn't deal with media file backups.

Are the missing files still listed in MediaMonkey (Dead Links)?

in my confusion I deleted all the dead links...
tried to make a playlist out of them, but now I see that is an empty playlist.

Backup 6.0 only saves the database metadata that points to your files.

Dead Links only allows removal from the library. You may be able to get the missing files back by rescanning any folder areas
you suspect contain the missing files.

If you're using Backup you may have a backup of the database prior to removing the Dead Links.

Unfortunately Backup was set to overwrite previous backup; and I didn't know enough to archive previous backups. Is it possible to set Backup to NOT delete previous backups?
I do have all my music files; so I can add them all, then go through process of deleting duplicates.
I did have all files auto-organized so that should save time; I'll just file monitor according to the organization format and it should only bring in what I had originally. e.g. all artists with name beginning with A had that folder; same for B, C, etc.
