Advanced search questions

Post by NWDreamer »

I like to have a consistent look & feel for all of the tracks in my library so I often create auto-playlists to help my filter out tracks that need some modifications. However, I'm having some issues getting the results I want and am not sure if I'm just doing something wrong or if some of the search statements are simply not possible. Here are a few of the things I'd like to find:
  • All Album Artists, Albums and Tracks that contain " of " (but NOT " Of "), " a " (but not " A "), " the " (but not " The "), etc.
  • Any text field with an international character in it like a tilde, or a letter with an umlaut, etc. (I still have a couple of old players that choke on these characters.)
  • Any track number with a leading zero (e.g., 01 or 02, etc.)
On the lowercase and track number searches I've tried various approaches like using quotes or a plus sign, but nothing has worked yet. The international character one could probably be done with about 100 or more separate criteria statements (one for each individual character), but that's obviously not practical. Actually, the lowercase task could probably be handled if there was a way to identify the fields where the first letter of every word isn't capitalized.

Any advice or tips?
