Why don't rips apply the disk info to the filename?

Why don't rips apply the disk info to the filename?
When I rip a CD to an MP3, MM searches Freedb. It normally finds the disc but after it rips it does not apply the disk info to the filename. It always shows cda.1 etc... I have customized Album<>Album Artist<>Title<>Track# but it doesn't apply to any ripped file.

Your mask is formatted incorrectly. It should be more like:
<Album> <Album Artist> <Title> <Track#>
<Album> <Album Artist> <Title> <Track#>

Re: Why don't rips apply the disk info to the filename?
My apologies. The way I have it formatted is:
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Title> - <Track#>
Is this still wrong?
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Title> - <Track#>
Is this still wrong?

No, that looks fine. What did you say that your filenames are usually named like?steviegt wrote:My apologies. The way I have it formatted is:

Re: Why don't rips apply the disk info to the filename?
Exactly like this. That's why I don't understand why it doesn't work.
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Title> - <Track#>
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Title> - <Track#>

I went in and deleted everything in that field and recreated it as follows and now it works. ???
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Track#> - <Title>
<Album> - <Album Artist> - <Track#> - <Title>
