ASIO Driver Installation

Post by ChrisOH »

Hi

I'm using MediaMonkey to convert my FLAC library to MP3 and synch to an 80g 5th gen ipod.

I use Foobar2000 as a player with an ASIO plugin.

I've found that you can use Foobar2000 as a player by pointing MM at the .exe but would like to try MediaMonkey with an ASIO driver. I got the one from Otochan that is pointed out in the wiki and extracted it to the main MM Directory but, it does not show up in the Output options within MM.

Any advice gratefully received.

Regards

Is the plugin in the "Plugins" folder?

Hi Yes, although I initially extracted it to the main directory I subsequently moved it to the plugins one. I assume you mean the ASIO output.dll.

I'm sorted thanks. Having checked more closely the asio dll was in a subdirectory of plugins hence it did not load at start up.

I just posted a page on the Wiki describing what I did to get ASIO working on my system.

Anyone reading this topic with experience should feel free to update it; I'm sure I've made mistakes or omissions.

Need help with Asio please

Post by mikehende »

So guys, I am trying to get MM to play inside of Reaper DAW which has it's own Virtual Cables setup in an option named ReaRoute so I am thinking I will need to route MM's Output to Asio then that to ReaRoute's Input?

Searching I have found this article here:

viewtopic.php?t=32326

but I am not clear on these instructions from Chris:
SO: to use ASIO with MediaMonkey, you

obtain one of the output plugins and an appropriate ASIO driver DLL;
copy both into the MediaMonkey plugins directory;
configure the plug-in to use the ASIO driver; and
if necessary, configure the ASIO driver to access the device.
Then the player should pipe the music to the device.
Can anyone help me with this please? I am ot understanding what he means by "obtain one of the output plugins"? Also I am seeing these 2 dll files in the Asio folder

Hi,
You need to have ASIO Output plugin in order to tell MM to output to ASIO.

Read https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index. ... ut_Plugins

As you are on MM4 you can try to install ASIO and Kernel plugins from here https://www.happymonkeying.com/list.php?gl1=2
