pulling music from my MMW5 via HEOS to an AVR-1700H works fine here, also casting from MMW to the AVR, without any special settings on both sides.

Something you don't want to hear .... do it manually selecting the artwork you like best. this. Ultimately, this applies to the whole topic of "tags": You can send any algorithms over your tracks and achieve a result of maybe 80%, and take the trouble to do it manually and correctly. ;-) ...
