Wow, thanks. Very nice. It's very helpful that you included the version with explicit non-variable values as well as one with variables. That one's much easier to read. "TotalPlays = Sum of all times any song has been played in the period. " Do this mean the the total time the song on this row has b...

I know what you mean about regretting deleting the database, having done that once myself.

Are you referring to the second one by Anubis on that page?

Looking good. Is there a way to run the query on the full database history (so taking ALL plays into account), rather than using a set time window?

I'm not asking for just this script where it might not be all that practical - I may have a use of that in one of my own.

Here is the SQL part: Time period is between 1 April to 20 April 2006. You can change it to whatever you want. You can also include time if you want. Actually this date/time thing could be tricky. Let me know if you need help with it. I'd want to use the difference between "Now()" and a given numbe...

Well, the first one is being done already, in the AutoRateSongs script. That SQL snippet I included in the first post takes the current song, and tells you how many times it's been played in a time period defined by the D_H and CB_A variables (hours or days, and how many of them). The MM database ha...

No, they don't necessarily contain scrolling lyrics. Just normal ones. I have a lot of songs (heavy metal, mostly) that minilyrics doesn't have any sort of lyrics for, and evillyrics doesn't find on the first attempt. Clicking the "find again" button on evillyrics to search more databases usually do...

When I tried Minilyrics (not that long ago) it couldn't compete with Evillyrics on the ability to check many different song databases (or if it did, I couldn't find out how to do it - also quite possible).

Help with SQL

I am modifying DiddleDoo's AutoRateSongs, and need to extract the following information from the database: 1) How many times the current song has been played in a given time period 2) How many total plays of ANY song have been played in the same period, and 3) How many different songs have been play...

Yes, I was being a bit light-hearted when I said a potential bug. I was raising the possibility that someone might set their safeskip period higher than the song duration - someone might concievably set the safeskip period to a minute or more, for example. It's best when programming to account for a...

One thing I considered asking about, and Keith the cowboy's usage also would benefit from this: Have the ability to configure two simultaneous tracking periods, one short, and one long. So, one person might have Players Per Day and Plays per 30 days as short and long, and another might have Plays pe...

I tend to play a fairly large subset of my songs, and cycle through them on a monthly basis - which is why I'm drawn to the 30 day period. I'm still figuring out how many plays I want to give each star rating, but I doubt I'll go much above 10 plays for 5 stars. That catch up script sounds good, tho...

The error was something to do with technojunky's script. Once I replaced it with your unmodified one, the ratings worked fine. (I have a few 15 second 'tracks' which are useful for testing this!) edit: crossposted with rovingcowboy - I don't know, maybe another script is involved, but it's working n...

The tag clean didn't work - but it wasn't just one song anyway. I tried it on a few.
I'll look for that modified script.
And rovingcowboy, yes my head is spinning...
