Media Monkey Specific Features
MM4 for Windows is my very clear choice for my music library..... For Android I use PowerAmp but I would love to use MM for Android but it doesn't seem to have any MM4 specific features that would make it a clear choice over the very polished and well functioning PowerAmp. For me, getting to the tra...

Re: Review of Remote Control Solutions for Media Monkey
UPDATE May 14 2013: MMremote has all the issues worked out plus some polishing and new functions added. It is by far the best choice for Android perhaps best overall.

Re: Important Information for Samsung Users
Thanks for the info .... I thought Mediaserver was a Samsung creation. As of Android 4.1.1 mediaserver is still very buggy and is almost certain to choke on any decent sized Media Monkey library .... I heard rumblings that it was fixed with Android 4.1.2 but my carrier hasn't released that yet so I ...

Important Information for Samsung Users
I don't really use MMA yet but I do know a bit about Samsung Phones .... If you plan to use MMA with a Samsung Phone (S2, 3, or 4) with 4.1.1 you really need to prevent the Samsung Android program "Mediaserver" from cataloging your tracks. Mediaserver is the Samsung program that catalogs a...

Re: Syncing with Android causes havok (NOTREP)
I don't see how file names could damage your card, nor how it could damage files on your pc. I am only relaying what happened in my case. There may be alternate explanations but often the most simple is the correct. What happened: 1) Syncing library to CARD part of Android phone .... using latest r...

Re: Syncing with Android causes havok (NOTREP)
I agree that it is a very simple setting change to make the sync safe for Android BUT the default setting is <name>. Do the devs want more people to suffer what just happened to me? Do others need to learn the hard way? The <name> function needs to be disabled as soon as possible OR a validity check...

Re: Syncing with Android causes havok
Not 100% sure as the card could have failed by itself but is there any checks on pathlength and characters validity.. I think it would be better to remove the option to sync as the tag track name .... You can change the sync destination to whatever you want. By default I think it uses <Artist> - <T...

Syncing with Android causes havok (NOTREP)
I have been having issues syncing with MM4 (current release) with a Sam Galaxy S3. By default MM4 sync with track name <NAME> in the tag instead of the actual filename <FILENAME> and it is my impression that this causes illegal characters and too long pathlength names to be attempted to write to exS...

Re: Review of Remote Control Solutions for Media Monkey
I know I am biased but I think my MonkeyTunes blows both of these away and gives you the option of everyone in your family access whether they have Android, iPhone, Windows RT Surface, Nokia Symbian devices etc. It supports them all and the interface on the Apple Remote and on Android ReTune are si...

Re: My Review of Media Monkey for Android
This is my impression but it seems that Android and MediaMonkey were made for each other. Why? I am guessing that Media Monkey has a reasonably large install base on X86. Looking at myself and my peers I ask what kind of person installs, uses and pays for Media Monkey? A definite picture comes to mi...

My Review of Media Monkey for Android
It is a great thing that Ventis decided to support Android. Media Monkey for windows really is a gift for people who actually appreciate music and it really is almost the only way to listen to a large base of music without relying on pre-canned playlists. I think of it as my own personal radio stati...

Great app but needs better search
MMA is remarkably well fleshed out considering how new it is. But the stock Android player is pretty solid too and it looks like MMA doesn't do anything that stock can't do. MMA need a search function tailored to MM4 tagged tracks so that I can search for 5 star tracks from a given artist or tracks ...

Review of Remote Control Solutions for Media Monkey
A Review of Remote Control Solutions for Media Monkey Update Sept 2016 Erlend continues to support MMremote and the stability, interface and list handling is now pretty much perfect. If Erland was able to make this app play local files on Android, it MMA would be superfluous. I still use Monkeymote...

Re: To flac or not....
Very impressive script and I can see it would be quite simple to port the tag info over ..... I may give it a try Still if someone wrote a dedicated FLAC upgrade script simpler to advanced duplicate find and replace it would be very useful. If I could script well enough I would take a shot at it. Th...
