Re: Desktop Playlist Access

I would like to place a desktop shortcut to access a specific playlist and start it playing. Any help for a brand new user would be appreciated. Thanks Well probably the easiest/simplest way is to export the playlist in question (file > export to playlist) then save that m3u (or a shortcut to that ...

Re: Transferring my database from my old laptop to my new la

sounds like you copied the database to the wrong location, in win7 it should be something like

Code: Select all

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey

Re: How does a SSD drive behave with mm.db

Now then, tell me this: When should I do Quick, as opposed to Complete Optimize Database. Is one more frequent - the other now and then, or what? Well obviously one takes longer, so you ca do the quick one when you don't have time for the complete. Honestly though, I have a *HUGE* database (~1.3gb)...

Re: MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 Not shutting down in a timely man

well, sqlite itself is not really well suited for multiple/shared access. And since you already seem to be aware of the file locking problems, I would make sure you have daily/weekly backups incase multiple people do something that tries to update the db at the same time.

Re: [1440] New scripts not showing up

today I created a portable version of mm 4 - 1501, and both db audit and db clean fail to show up after restarting MM. They do appear in the tools > scripts menu after initial installation, but not after restarting. And it appears that installing one will remove the other from the scripts menu (befo...

Re: MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 Not shutting down in a timely man

I would recommend not putting the database on a shared drive, there are various performance and file locking problems that can occur that will likely corrupted the db beyond salvage (always have a recent backup copy).

Re: How does a SSD drive behave with mm.db

While it is true that it is not recommended to defrag SSD, simply because of the increased read/write wear (flash memory can only handle so many writes), there is a difference between the logical fragmentation (that the OS see's) and the wear-leveling techniques used to distribute the data across th...
