Performance In MM4
This has been true for all version of MM4, am currently on 4.01.1461. Performance is deadly slow. Deadly. 20 seconds to open the Artists list. 45 minutes to scan 18K files on startup. 5 seconds to open track info window. 90 minutes to update podcasts, even when nothing new is downloaded. Performance...

Re: 20 Seconds + to Update Tag Data
Problem still occurs with the RC Candidate (3.1.0.1248). I'm a little unclear on how to create the debug log, since there is no crash/lock.

Re: 20 Seconds + to Update Tag Data
Turning FILE MONITOR off solves the problem.
But ... I want to use file monitoring. It's one of the best things MM does, as far as I'm concerned. So ... now that we've identified what is causing the bug, any ideas on how to fix it? Is it likely the new RC-2 will address it?

Re: 20 Seconds + to Update Tag Data
I finally got around to doing the full uninstall/reinstall. When I reinstalled MM, everything was great, and the delay was gone. Updating tag info was happening seamlessly. Then I input my Gold Key, and the old behavior started again. The only other piece of data is that the initial monitoring had n...

Re: 20 Seconds + to Update Tag Data
Nope, no scripts. I ran regclean, which led to many other issues, but has not addressed the MM stuff. Also, that would point to the problem being outside of MM, which is certainly possible, but I also know that problems like this have been reported off and on for quite some time, and so I am wonderi...

20 Seconds + to Update Tag Data
Sometimes, tag data updates immediately. Usually, though, MM freezes for 20 - 45 seconds when I update the name/artist/cover art/whatever. It's a total application freeze. Music is stored on an external USB drive, OS is Vista 64 Ultimate. Using MM 3.06.1190. The problem seems to be getting worse--si...

Default Album Art?
I'm not sure what happened, but new podcasts are now being auto-tagged with a single image for their album art. That is, any new podcast added to MM is being given image_x. If they already have album art, image_x is being added as a second image. I don't know where image_x came from, I don't know wh...

Files Recopied EVERY Synch
About 70 files are copied to my iPod every time I synch, altho nothing has changed in those files. This has been happening ever since the MM update a few months ago, and is absolutely consistent: if no new files need to be copied, it's just those 70. If I add 30 songs, 100 files will be copied. Any ...

It gets weirder. I see two different behaviors. * In the first, what is described above happens, where all tracks that have been played are played in a random order, without any track with zero plays being played. * In the second, tracks will play in a totally UNrandom order, starting with track one...
