Re. the tinny sound, I'm not sure what you're comparing it to. If you're comparing it to Winamp, there shouldn't really be a noticeable difference. If you're comparing it to MS Mediaplayer, which has SRS enabled by default, there might be some noticeable difference. There are a couple of ways to dea...

Thanks to both of you for the feedback. The next beta should have this resolved, though we'll need your help to test the fix.

Thanks for the compliments!! Re. your offer of some design help, we might take you up on it in the future, but it'll have to wait just a bit--we actually have a new www site, new logo, new splashscreen etc. that will be unveiled as soon as the beta period is over--hopefully sooner rather than later ...

To add to this: in any node, you can create a primary sort by clicking a column heading and a secondary sort by clicking <control> and a second column heading. This might help you out but it probably won't solve your issue entirely since the sort settings do not propagate to subnodes and are reset w...

re. the audio glitches while editing a tag, it's definitely new to 1.4 because 1.3 didn't support tag editing of the currently playing track (1.3 allowed properties of the currently playing track to be changed, but often didn't keep tags synchronized with the db--we decided for 1.4 that it was too c...

Re. length analysis, I agree that it's a worthwhile feature. We'll probably incorporate this whenever we spend time on enhancing the CD writing functionality (at the moment, our focus is on stabilizing the current release). Re. the bug you experienced with Nero, I've experienced a couple of related ...

Someone else reported the same problem on W98. It's related to the fact that W98 and ME use a different Serial Number to identify media than W2k and WXP, and build 506 has some code to correct problems caused by this when users perform OS upgrades. Evidently, the solution is worse than the problem :...

Good point. We're probably going to move the Accessible Songs node to:
Playlists / Accessible Tracks.

re. usage of the forum, I prefer a new topic for each new bug as it makes it easier to track them.

Changing multiple song properties on dupes only updates one

Numbnuts, I tried replicating the problem with 2 tracks that were 'real' duplicates (i.e. same path, filenames different by 1 character, ID3V2 title fields identical), and found that editing multiple properties worked fine. That said, I think you might be experiencing a bug similar to the two below ...

Ahhhh... Now I understand--it's reproducible on my machine (and on any machine, I suspect). Should be a quick fix.

Jaxjon,

I've tried to replicate (on build 506--beta3), but am having no luck. Have you tried Beta3, and is it still occuring?

If yes, I would love to see a log when the problem occurs. Please send me a note offline... Thx.

Just select the files that you want to copy, right click, and select 'Send to' | 'Folder (copy) and choose your destination directory. It's not a 1-click solution, but it should meet your needs. [Note: the copied files will not be added to your library--i.e. this won't result in duplicate entries fo...

I guess I was sort of vague... I can reproduce it, and have added it to the to do list, but the queue is fairly long and CD+G support isn't at the top ;-)

Glad to hear you're enjoying Songs-DB!

fyi, builds 503 and later include functionality that speeds up all scans after the initial lookup (assuming default configuration).
