I just discovered that if you Stop a song, or reach the end of a playlist and don't have Continuous Play on, the song doesn't get rated.
Is this by design?

Also: what happens if you interrupt playback of a song by double-clicking another song? Does rating still work?

Okay, I'll admit those sound like good reasons :)
I meant to ask, what is "the mood problem" - what do you plan to do with Mood?
There are a couple of scripts that allow you to change properties via hotkeys if you wish to manually change song Mood. (They are under Rating Hotkeys, as it happens.)

It may reflect that most have not really put a heck of a lot of attention to manual rating. Doing like the other one said, 16,000 songs individually.. he for sure would get another hobby before that project got finished. I often wonder why people have lots of tracks they don't actually want to list...

With this script, if I set it up to have a period of, say, 30 days... If I play a song 6 times in one month it'll get set to rating 5. If I then don't play it again for 30 days, then play it once, does this mean that the rating will be reset to 3, or will it keep the 5 rating? edited to ask If it do...

I'm surprised to hear people using 4 as their benchmark for what they like. I'm setting the bar much lower - 2 is the rating I use for songs I like, and 3-5 get used for songs I like even more (with 5 being my absolute faves). 1 = songs I don't rate highly, but some nostalgia factor or sentimentalit...

I'd like to modify the script on the first page to allow for 20 genres,. I can see that I could basically create two versions of the script: once for genre's 1-10, using CTRL+ALT+ number keys 0-9, and again for CTRL+SHIFT+ number keys 0-9 But what @d really like is a script that did the following: E...

Opera has a load of keyboard shortcuts - so that's probably true. But I've never noticed the multimedia keys do anything in Opera before installing MM.
Also, when I had iTunes and Winamp installed, the keys worked fine to control them even when Opera had focus. So it's weird.

I haven't yet found another application it occurs with - it does seem to be just Opera.
I haven't tested any other browsers - but it doesn't affect any of the productivity apps I use.

Associate Equaliser Preset with specific songs

Is it possible to associate equaliser settings with individual songs? iTunes can do this, and it's a feature I could really do with.

MediaMonkey ignores multimedia keys when Opera has focus

I realise this is probably an Opera problem not a MM one, but maybe not. My keyboard has multimedia keys, and they drive MM fine (Play, Pause, FF, RW, Mute) when any program but the Opera browser has focus. In Opera, nothing happens. Two systems: WinXP SP2, P4 1024MB, Laptop with DVD writer, 1 HD (C...

I'm sure I've done this - autoorganise files that weren't in my library. Try this. Create a new folder that MM isn't monitoring; put some mp3s in it that aren't in your library. In windows explorer, right-click on those files, and select Play in MediaMonkey. Now they will be in your Now Playing wind...

Real & Quicktime

I have the winamp move pliugin which allows playing a lot of movie formats. Is there a plugin for Realplayer movies and quicktime movies?
