Debug MM frozen when adding files to library [#14055]

Hello. I've been testing 1829, offered to me as a debug build after I reported an OS validation bug (which is now fixed). This being my first debug build I've used, I don't know if the behavior I'm about to describe is typical for debug builds, or unique to this one. I'm guessing it'll be the former...

Re: 1828: Random stall when modifying several tags at once

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently running the debug build of 1829 linked in the thread of my other issue (which is fixed now by the way--my Windows 7 is detected correctly and I have my thumbnail preview and media buttons back), and have a log generating in the background. I'll see throughout the ...

Re: 1828: No more Jump List buttons in the Windows 7 task ba

I can confirm this issue is fixed in 1829. My Windows 7 is properly detected, and I have the album art preview and media buttons in my taskbar as expected. Thanks for the quick turnaround!

Re: 1828: Random stall when modifying several tags at once

Thanks, rusty. I have a large number of albums from my early years of music collecting, that I had mistakenly tagged with no track numbers. So, I've been little by little, doing Auto Tag from Web to get the track numbers from Amazon, or Discogs, iTunes, or MusicBrainz (the latter three sources comin...

Re: 1828: Random stall when modifying several tags at once

I might have uncovered the cause for at least my other issue with the missing jump list media buttons. 1828 is detecting my Windows 7 install as Vista. I already submitted debug logs to the help desk. You can check that out at http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Tickets/Ticket/View/GWR-624...

Re: 1828: No more Jump List buttons in the Windows 7 task ba

Yeah, I had to revert to 4.1.14.1813 to get the thumbnail preview and media buttons back as well. If you can, can you test out the debug build of 1828 with DbgView, and see what Windows version it detects? I did that myself, and 1828 detected my Windows 7 as Windows Vista. Seems like a major regress...

Re: 1828: Random stall when modifying several tags at once

Thank you, but I already do periodic complete optimization of my library, so I have a feeling that's not it, unless there were changes in 1828 that specifically affect the database? But if so, shouldn't it have prompted a DB upgrade or something like that upon install? I've seen that during a few up...

1828: Random stall when modifying several tags at once

Twice this evening, 4.1.15.1828 stalled on me when I was modifying the tags of several songs at once. I wasn't even modifying that many--it was a batch of around 20 each time. Previous versions have let me handle 100+ at a time with only a very rare crash (like maybe once every few months on average...

Re: 1828: No more Jump List buttons in the Windows 7 task ba

Is anybody else on Windows 7 seeing this issue? I just recently fired up a Windows 7 virtual machine, on which I had never installed MediaMonkey before, and installed it on there. I first tested it in Portable mode, accepting all other defaults. I then tested by opening a single song, and still, I o...

Re: 1828: No more Jump List buttons in the Windows 7 task ba

Hmm... I just reinstalled 1828 over my existing install, and still, no buttons show up for me. This is weird.

1828: No Jump List buttons in the Windows 7 task bar [14036]

Hello. I just installed 4.1.15.1828 today over my existing 4.1.14 stable version. I run it in Portable mode, on Windows 7 SP1 x64. Usually, when I hover over the MediaMonkey icon in my taskbar, I can see the album art of the currently playing song, and buttons to stop, play, pause, and increase/decr...

Re: Any way to prevent MM from stealing focus on start up?

I fired up my XP Mode virtual machine, and installed MM (non-portable), and it's still a focus stealer on there...I could chalk that up to some differences between XP and Windows 7, however... (and I'm not really inclined to try the same test on my native 7).

Re: Any way to prevent MM from stealing focus on start up?

So, I've removed unnecessary addons, including two of the ones I had in common. No difference in the focus stealing. Then, just to be thorough, I disabled the third addon (by renaming the script file's extension), and still no difference. MM still forces its way to the front of my screen.

Re: Any way to prevent MM from stealing focus on start up?

I am running a portable install of 1496, if that makes a difference. I also have the splash screen disabled via the mediamonkey.ini file. As a quick test, I tried re-enabling the splash screen. Doing so, MM still forces its way to the front of my screen instead of staying in the background. As for f...

Any way to prevent MM from stealing focus on start up?

I'm using the current 4.0.5 version on Windows 7 x64 (but have experienced this issue for as long as I've been using MM...just haven't felt bothered enough until now to report it, though.) I have a huge music library of over 80k tracks, and so, MM takes at least 10 seconds to load. I am fine with th...
