Re: Playing to (Denon) Zone 2 speakers

Since the Denon E400 won't be Microsoft Certified, the first thing you'll have to do is make a change to the Windows Registry to tell Windows that it is a valid "Play to" device for Metro-style Apps. See this Microsoft Wiki Article: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows8_1-picture...

Re: MMW & DBpoweramp for ripping???

I wouldn't call one better than the other. They both do secure rips and verify against the accuraterip database, ensuring a perfect rip. I suppose the advantag of using MM to rip would only be that the tracks are added directly to the MM database while ripping, so you skip the step of having to sca...

Re: auto tagging from web sources (Amazon????)

Here's what I do when I can't find the album art on Amazon. I try to find it somewhere; artist website, wikipedia, internet search. Once found, I right click on it and save to a folder I use for this. Then open MM, click on song(s), click edit properties, go to Album Art tab, click add, go find the...

MMW & DBpoweramp for ripping???

Since this isn't a help question; its more of "compare or should I do this?" kind of thing and since it doesn't relate to MM directly I guess its safe to say its offtopic so that being said: I kind of knew that MMW could rip from CDs; but I've always used dbpoweramp because not only does dbpoweramp ...

Re: Playing to (Denon) Zone 2 speakers

I just got a Denon E400; how would I go about doing a play to? (it is network capable)

I've accessed media from my file server running Plex via the Denon Media server option; but what about through MMW or MM8?

auto tagging from web sources (Amazon????)

It seems to me MMW only offers Amazon as a choice; granted there's Amazon.com, UK, Germany, a few others well... uh there's a lot more music available than you'd expect Amazon to have. Is there a way to add more sources? I've got an unknown artist; I know who it is; but I can't tag it or find the al...

Re: Help please: can't find unknown albums

Right click the artist/folder and click on auto tag from web (or file name below the auto tag from web)

I have some questions about that feature I'll be posting in another thread; but your question is based on how you would do it so there ya go :)

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

Chromecast is HDMI and runs a Google OS. Plair runs Android and there are some other Android solutions as well. These solutions normally allow Google Play apps which makes them really versatile. Yeah I was looking at Android TV (similar to Plair) Chromecast isn't that great because it doesn't allow...

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

Oh, I like the idea of chromecast; its USB but the USB on the receiver is for photos/music; I don't know that I can run an OS off it (I can on the TV though) if I could run chromecast off the receiver that's really the way I'd go.

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

I saw this; someone mentioned using xbmc here in this thread; http://imx.solid-run.com/product/cubox-i4-pro/ for $130 I don't have to build it and it comes with xbmc :) and I'd have to program a remote to work with it since it doesn't come with its own. This is starting to look better than the Boxee...

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

It would seem to be the case that it doesn't: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_580TXN727/Onkyo-TX-NR727.html?tp=179#Network%20Functions Check if Boxee supports DLNA (it seems it initially didn't) as you may be able to order the remote separately. I know that Roku doesn't. You also have other solutions ...

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

very positive; here's quote from manual MPEG-4 AAC Pz2 As you're probably referring to this file type: it's not a video format but an audio codec. The whole section of the manual you posted deals with audio only; in fact it looks as though the Denon doesn't do video over DLNA. ahhh well that makes ...

Re: Can't play videos? (but I hear them)

By the sound of it it doesn't. very positive; here's quote from manual Important information • The network audio playback function of this unit connects to the server using technologies shown below. • Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service • Windows Media DRM1...
