Recently Added Content - sort order dictated by Win7 not MM4

I use the Playlist: Recently Added Content. It displays the tracks I have just added - does what it says on the tin. However the tracks are sorted in the order that Windows has decided to transfer them into the album folder. I prefer to see the tracks listed in track order. I know I can click the co...

Re: Backup 5.8 - Updated 27/10/2010

gpzbc, your posts here are most helpful. What I cannot understand is what is the Second Archive supposed to do. I see that you do not use it. Is that coz it is worthless. I have just inspected the folders in my Second Archive folder. The folders that are made each time there is a backup run...are Em...

Re: move files from ext drive to new ext hard drive - help p

Sorry I should have said it is the Auto-Organize Files function I do not wish to use. Get the commands wrong and you end up with a mess or worst case losing your files. I want to move the folders and files myself and then tell MM where they are. How do I do that please. I have over T2 of music data ...

move files from ext drive to new ext hard drive - help pls

I have filled my ext hard drive and now need to move all the music files to a new larger hard drive. I know many folk have fallen foul of this straight forward task. MM requires a certain process else I shall get grayed out listings. I understand drive ID is involved too. So, in easy steps, what sho...

Re: wasapi

Paul thanks for asking this question. I too am concerned that MM4 is not behaving well with bit perfect or HiRes files. I need to understand more about what MM4 is doing when playing tracks that are Bitrate 24 Sample rate 96kHz. I too am running Win 7 x64 using WASAPI and considering buying a V-DAC....

trixmoto, this must be a very difficult time for you. You have/had a wonderful script that we all used as an insurance to safe guard our precious settings. And now reading about the difficulties many people are having as a direct result of the poor installation setup of MM4.
Thanks anyway,

Re: Backup 5.8 - Updated 27/10/2010

Here we go. C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey This is a load of rubbish, stuff that is old, outdated, or a straight forward selection of empty folders. Alright that's how it is. The thing that now concerns me greatly is why is it that my two most important files are located here . Grrhh. Name...

Re: Backup 5.8 - Updated 27/10/2010

The only difference I see is the "MM.DB-journal" file. And I'm not sure what that is. To me it works like a temp file while stuff is playing. It disappears and then pops back again. My MM4 files and folders are really messy not like you suggested at all. I'll try and work out what's going on and com...

Re: Backup 5.8 - Updated 27/10/2010

gpzbc thank you so much for your clear explanation.
I'll copy your settings and do the same as you.
Thank you for taking the trouble to provide a dialogue box image - so helpful.
The only thing is are you sure Backup 5.8 is capturing the folders that sit under C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey.

failed backup of MediaMonkey.ini

I hope I can explain this issue clearly. For some reason my MediaMonkey.ini is in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\ The Backup 5.8 looks at Settings C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini. This is grayed out so I cannot correct it. Which means that while I thought I had safe back...
