Re: No vertical scroll bar in media tree window ?????

I bumped this 2014 thread a more than a year ago. Now I see komarek has bumped it again. It's still a problem in the version komarek cited. There's a valid set of screen shots provided by dps earlier in this thread. The situation is that the entire media tree is visible when MMW first starts, but la...

Re: Coveting .mp4 to .mp3 files

MM will convert mp4 to mp3, but I believe you have to have the Gold version to convert anything to mp3 (due to licensing). MM does preserve all tags in the converted file. I convert files all the time that are not in my library. (Usually, I'm converting them prior to putting them into my library.) T...

Wanting improved "Now Playing" info export

I use the WinAmp AMIP plug-in to export info from my "Now Playing" track to a .txt file. When a new track starts playing, the txt file is overwritten with the new song's metadata, and that is exactly what I want it to do. It works fine but it is kind of limited in what info it will export. It provid...

Re: Drop-down in Rating column

The rating column is wide enough, but I made it wider just to be sure that wasn't the problem. Actually, the "problem" is caused by where I click on the song first to highlight it. If I click in the rating column first to highlight the song, and then click again in the rating column to apply my rati...

Re: is there a way to have a seperator in the playlist ?

What I do is use a short, silent music file. I call it a "pause track". It's silent, and just a couple of seconds long. I leave most of the tags blank. Then I insert that track at the appropriate locations in the playlist to visually separate groups of songs. A few CDs have pause tracks that you can...

Drop-down in Rating column

This is something that is kind of annoying. I'm hoping there is a way to fix it. If I have a non-playing track in the library list view and I want to apply a rating, sometimes, but not all the time, when I click on the number of stars I want, instead of applying that rating, it opens a drop down lis...

Re: Correct artist tagging method

Also, if you have a compilation album like the "Now" series, many people put "Various" (or some derivative of that) in the AlbumArtist field and the actual artist in the Artist field.

Re: Auto-Tag from Web can't show results

Oops! I just discovered that this is a known problem. Someone grabbed a thread from 2009 to report the 2018 problem. :-?

[SOLVED] Auto-Tag from Web can't show results

Hi. Is anyone else having this problem? I use Auto-Tag from Web some... not a lot... but it always worked for me in that it always successfully attempted to process a request, even though it didn't always come up with usable results. On the whole, it is a very helpful function. I use it primarily fo...

Re: maximum capacity (# of mp3 files) that can be managed in

Alan, I have not quite 300,000 media files, almost all mp3. I have my MM database on my SSD C drive. The media files themselves are on my D drive, a regular internal HDD. MMW handles my library without a hiccup, and it is very fast when searching. When I start MMW, it takes about 8 seconds to load t...

Re: No vertical scroll bar in media tree window ?????

I'm reviving this thread because the problem as described in the thread still exists (at least for me it does). I am on the current version of MMW (4.1.15.1830), Gold Lifetime. I use the Glided skin. My font size in the "Skin" Option is 100% (I've never changed it). I'm not overriding a Skin theme o...

Re: Media Tree Scroll Bars Disappearing

This still happens to me every now and then. I'm using the current MMW 4.1.4.1813. I don't know what causes the problem, so I can't reproduce it on demand. the only workaround is to close and reopen MMW. I'm adding my comment here instead of starting a new thread on the same topic.

Re: SQL error while doing Maintenance

Woo-hoo! Thanks to Meander for advancing the conversation, and thanks to Peke and Ludek for getting this elevated to documented "bug" status with a target for resolution. I wanted to add a thought to Ludek's comment that the "Optimize database (complete)" shouldn't be needed unless the database is c...

Re: SQL error while doing Maintenance

Yes, something is now definitely wrong. It has been Optimizing the database for over 40 minutes now and it usually takes only about 3 minutes. I'm getting a lot of disk activity and Process Hacker (Task Manager on steroids) shows that MM is using 2-3% CPU. so it is doing something. Not sure what tho...
