Trixmoto's backup script ver 5.8 compatible with MM ver 4

Hi,
Does anyone know whether this script is compatible with MM 4? I tried Trixmoto's site but could not find a way to query this with him.

My first pass impression of MM4 is that it is an exiting upgrade from V3, congratulations to all involved!

Re: MediaMonkey 4

I have read the posts but cannot deduce from the discussions what form the video features will take in MM4. I am absolutely happy with MM3, it has exceeded all my expectations especially given the help and guidance from this forum which in my view has no equal in the field of forums. I have a reason...

Re: Error Code 53005 -Burning

Thanks Peke for posting that change (http://www.happymonkeying.com/beta/hpCDBurn.dll) :D I have used MM to burn many dozens of CD's but today this error code suddenly appeared. After spoiling three cd-r's I found your suggested solution and it works!! Thanks again, another example of the excellent s...

Re: Trixmoto's Backup Script

Thanks Lowlander and Trixmoto. I have never used the "Maintain Library" feature and after using it the MM.DB file reduced from 23537Kb to 22377Kb. I did a cleanup of the album and genre files some time ago and this must have left those empty spaces. I guess that even on a small DB like mine periodic...

Re: Trixmoto's Backup Script

Thanks Nohitter, it is the same size. Seems strange though? But I will stop worrying.

Trixmoto's Backup Script

Can anyone please tell me what data is stored in the MM.DB file in Trixmoto's backup script. I am asking as after backup I like to check this MM.DB file and usually the size of the file increases after adding new files. For about six weeks now the size of this file has remained constant at 23537Kb d...

Re: Coordinate PC and Laptop using External Drive

Hi PeterO, When making changes to the ExtDrive/PC combo remember that MM on the laptop will still have the old data stored and will look for it in the old locations. It could be an idea to delete the library on the laptop before hooking up the ExtDrive and then rescan the full library. I enjoy the l...

Re: Random play of classical music possible ?

Hi,
No, my way will not work with Random play but the script suggested by pushpull looks promising - I have not used it. Hope it works for you.

Re: Coordinate PC and Laptop using External Drive

Hi PeterO I'm with you - a novice myself! What happens when you Add/Rescan files to MM is that MM reads and stores the file address (where on the external drive it is located) and the music data (Album/Artist etc) and only that info is stored in MM. If you try to play the music with the external dri...

Re: Coordinate PC and Laptop using External Drive

Hi PeterO, I have the same setup, a desktop with my master library and a laptop with an external drive. I plugged the external drive into the desktop and copied the entire music library (from the root file) to the external drive. I then plugged it in to the laptop and used the Add/Rescan files to th...

Re: Random play of classical music possible ?

Hi, My library is set up so that every composition is an album eg when a CD contains two compositions I will rip it to my library not with the CD album name but with each composition as an album. To listen to multiple compositions but with each track within a composition in the right place I create ...

Re: Tags not being updated

Hi Lowlander No, it does not show up in the unsynchronised tags (quite a few others there !). Seems that there must be an issue with the rights, I will contact the seller (e-classsical) and ask them about it. I will post their response. I will do manual updates. It is good that MM stores it's own ta...

Re: Tags not being updated

Thanks for the suggestion Lowlander.I tried that and the taskbar at the bottom of the screen showed MM going through the process of updating the tags but after synchronizing I checked again and the tags had not been updated. Strange thing is that the library is showing the updated tags - where will ...

Tags not being updated

Hi All, For some reason MM (Gold Ver 3) is not updating my changes to the tags to my hard drive file. I have tried deleting and re-ticking the "Update tags when editing properties" in Tags & Playlists and have used Synchronise Tags in the Tools Tab. "Synchronise Tags" seems to keep the correct tags...

Re: Ripping CDs to FLAC: Some General Questions

Hi Richard Allow me to add to this thread. I am not a technical person but just a music lover whose collection (90% classical) became unmanageable and who was lucky enough to find MM and the unmatched support available from the moderators and contributers to the forum. In my initial excitement I rip...
