Re: Chinese or Japanese characters superimposed over western

Thanks for the response Lowlander. I have installed MM4.0.3.1465 and will report back whether this update solved the problem.

Chinese or Japanese characters superimposed over western

Hi, I find that Chinese or Japanese characters are superimposed over the western characters after I have been working in MM4.0.1462. It is difficult to pinpoint what triggers this but twice today after I had been to the My Computer node it happened. The affected tabs are Tools/Auto Organise files an...

Re: A question for the design geniuses hereabouts

Hi,

The quote is from sound experts and Microsoft Development Partners and they are in the business of building sound cards and specialised sound servers for purveyors of digital music.

Who am I to argue?

Re: A question for the design geniuses hereabouts

Hi Jametuta, Yes the Cantatis Overture does play the output from Wasapi but in my setup I cannot control the volume. My card is set to use a bit-rate of 24 and the sample-rate is set at at 96000k. I asked Cantatis what happens when I use Wasapi and the Overture 192 under these conditions and the res...

Re: Classical music tagging HELP

Yes, you are right, you are pretty much on your own when it comes to tagging classical music. After a few years of experimenting I have settled on a routine that works for me but takes time to tag. In windows my file structure is MusikDB/ClassicsDB/Composer/Composition. In MM I use the album tag to ...

In my experience once you change the setting it becomes the default until you change it again.

Re: *Path*...

Hi,
When you get to g:/Entertainment/ etc right click on the path and it will open a new dialog box where you can change the path and in Configure (in the same dialog box) you can change the Artist, Title etc path as well as the file conversion type such as MP3, flac etc.

Re: Add/Rescan Library

There is a problem with Add/Rescan. In a previous post in this thread I reported that I am consistenly getting 926 files not added as "files do not meet the criteria". I have eliminated 898 of these as .gif, .jpg, .pdf etc files but I am now suspecting that there may be some music files as well. Tod...

Re: A question for the design geniuses hereabouts

Hi Otello,

Thanks for your response. It is a pity that the Cantatis does not support Wasapi, it would have been interesting to compare the sound at lower volume!

I have had my Cantatis for two years now and I am very happy with it. It was pricey but I guess you get what you pay for?

Re: A question for the design geniuses hereabouts

Hi, Interesting post and response. I listen to my classical music through a Cantatis Overture 192 soundcard and OS is Vista 64 bit with MM4 and MM Direct Sound selected.. The soundcard came with software that supresses Windows sound management as I understand it. After reading this post I switched t...

Re: How many "lifetime license" users out there?

I was a MM3 Gold user and I loved it. It was just perfect for my large classical collection. In the survey done about 18 months ago (?) I voted against including video in MM4. My concern was bloatware. As I recall the vote was about evenly split between the For and Against voters. This week when MM4...

Re: Add/Rescan Library

An easy way to fix "missing" tracks that show in the location node (ie added but not visible in the music collection) is to right click the track, select "Properties" and in the basic tab change the collection allocation in the "Type" box to "Music" or whatever the collection name is where you want ...

Re: Add/Rescan Library

Hi,
Let me clarify, MM4 does not count the .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, or .dat files but all the album art is present in MM and shows when the file is played.

Re: Add/Rescan Library

Hi,

Just as an update. I ran a search on my database and found 890 files that are either .gif .jpg or .pdf files. Of the 919 non-added files that leaves 29 other file types that were not added to the library.

Hope this helps.

Re: Add/Rescan Library

Hi. I am running MM4 Gold I had the same problem and by searching and comparing files I found that MM is not counting .gif and .jpg files. In my case the library consists of 9151 files and on scanning 919 files are not added which I am at this stage assuming to be the image files as it seems likely....
