Re: freedb socket errors

I'm having the same problem today, but it also occurs when I change my web lookup option to musicbrainz. First, I was getting socket error 10061 messages; after changing my lookup option from freedb to musicbrainz, I'm getting the error message indicating that the site could not be found. I'm using ...

What Does Blue Highlighting on File Names Mean? Are Artist and Album Retained with File When Not in File Name?

When I try to configure the file names of my music files, MM always highlights many files in blue. I have no idea what this means. The highlighted files are not too long, and they aren't even duplicates. What does this mean and do I need to change the file names? The other question I have: I am tryi...

Re: MP3 Files Deleted From Library - Why? How?

The problem was that I purchased a new computer and loaded my old files into MM, then loaded more recently. MM apparently used a different file path to store my old files than it used to store my new files. It could not find the old files. I found them, after I had already re-loaded all the CD's. :-...

Re: MP3 Files Deleted From Library - Why? How?

Thanks for the response. I have never deleted any of the files in my library or used a method to organize files that deleted files. There must be some other reason the files were deleted.

MP3 Files Deleted From Library - Why? How?

After the latest MM update, I noticed that a good chunk of my music library is missing. The missing files are all in MP3 format - it was all loaded into MM from CD's. Some were loaded to MM in fairly high quality, other files were loaded in the highest quality available. I used the MM search functio...

Re: MM 4 will not read my CD - it doesn't open at all

Thanks for the reply! I did try starting mm first, then loading the cd. I did not realize I can change the auto play settings for the cd - I'll try that tonight after work. Very frustrating to not be able to include this cd in my library! I'm wondering how many other cd's will have the same problem....

MM 4 will not read my CD - it doesn't open at all

Opened a new CD tonight, intending to play it in MM then then rip it to the library. But MM will not open the CD when I load the CD into the computer tower's disc drive. Instead, Windows media opens, ejects the CD, and gives me a message to insert a CD! I've tried restarting the computer and MM, but...

Re: How to Get MM to List A Song Under Main Aritst's Name

This is why you have Album Artist as field and as node. It would keep tracks under the main Artist. You can change nodes shown in the Media Tree under File > Manage Collections. Thanks, Lowlander! I appreciate the help! It took me awhile, but I found the way to change the organizing tree nodes for ...

How to Get MM to List A Song Under Main Aritst's Name

I notice that in my library under "Artists," MM is listing second and third and fourth artists separately, with the the song they sang in under that artist's name. I want to know how to get MM to list each and every song in an album only under the primary artist's name when I load the CD i...

Forcing Relative Paths - Basic Question

When I select "force relative paths" in the device syncing options, do I still need to manually delete the drive name from the file name pathways, in order to sync playlists to the root directory of the card?

Thanks for the help!

Syncing Playlists to microSD Card

MODERATORS: YOU CAN DELETE THIS THREAD - I REALIZE NOW THAT I NEED TO TRY SYNCING A DEVICE WITH THE INCLUDED DRIVERS - NOT A MEMORY CARD. I am very unfamiliar with media management programs, but I want to buy a digital music player, so I am trying to make playlists in MediaMonkey and sync them to a ...
