Re: Windows update to new version, MM can't find codecs anymore
I'm tired of Windows. After reading some of the helpful posts, I found out there's an alternative codec available on MM's site. The MAD codec. I installed it... That should take care of this going forward, without having to reinstall a media pack every time Windows decides to update. I swear the mom...

Windows update to new version, MM can't find codecs anymore
I've had this issue before, and came to this forum to receive advice to fix it, but this time, the fix hasn't worked. Windows 10 was updated to 19041, and, as expected, I downloaded the corresponding media feature pack, and installed it. Even after a reboot, MM still gives me a missing codec error w...

Re: Denon can't see MM service unless MM app is running
The service configuration doesn't happen at software install time, it's under the media sharing options. I've had issues with it, however. It doesn't always run in the background by itself, and it seems to want to shut itself down when I decide to shut off the client app. I think this stemmed after ...

Re: Can't find CD in freedb
When that fails for me, I proceed with ripping anyways, which will give you untagged files. I rip them in a spearate folder. Then, I use MP3tag to look up tags for the files. It connects to other databases, including amazon, and discogs. I have yet to find a CD it hasn't recognized. Maybe it happene...

Re: Basic query re storing MP3s etc
There is another more direct approach to achieve what you want. You can create playlists. A playlist is a list of tracks, indexed in the order of your choosing, that you can queue up for playing, and it will play all those tracks. You can create a playlist from tracks located in different directorie...

MMclient to a PLEX server?
I'm considering different options to move my media library from my PC to a NAS. I want to keep using MM as a client on my PC, which doesn't require any kind of special configuration on the NAS, other than file serving. However, I'd also like to keep a DLNA server for my living room stereo system, an...

Re: Flac on NAS - best strategy?
So, if you're using your NAS as the file server, just a basic repository of your media, I will go from the assumption that your PC stays on and runs the Media Monkey Server service. This server service is NOT necessary to play all your media on your PC. Your media is directly rendered by the MM clie...

Re: MEDIA MONKEY UNABLE TO DECODE THIS FORMAT
I ran the media feature update and mp3's and mp4's play again... That was it... Kids, If you are running Windows 10 Pro, don't forget to upgrade the media pack EVERY update... Thanks Microsoft! Quick question. Does MM support .mkv videos? That one still doesn't work. Though I don't recall ever tryin...

Re: MEDIA MONKEY UNABLE TO DECODE THIS FORMAT
I can't confirm this yet, but I'm starting to suspect that the update to 1903 has borked media playback. This is windows N (10 PRO), and it requires a media feature pack download. The update is probably what is controlling this sort of stuff. OGG and FLAC may be spared as they aren't built into wind...

Re: MEDIA MONKEY UNABLE TO DECODE THIS FORMAT
Version 4.1.2.4.1883, on windows 10 version 1903 build 18362.175

Seems Bizarre. I play those fine with other programs.

MEDIA MONKEY UNABLE TO DECODE THIS FORMAT
All I'm doing is trying to play a local MP3. Same with .ogg, or any other file. They all playback fine when I use winVLC, or mediaplayer. Microsoft recently pushed a windows 10 update onto my computer, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it. What should I do? I tried reinstalling MM, to...

Re: MM 4.1.23.1881 - Playlist stuck at load time. MM won't shut down fully
Ok, then the normal version of MediaMonkey isn't doing this for me currently. The server service runs at all times; and Media Monkey doesn't properly shut down because of this as I have described in this thread.

Re: MM 4.1.23.1881 - Playlist stuck at load time. MM won't shut down fully
Are you running the debug version of MediaMonkey? If that's the case you may need to start DBGView as administrator. I just installed the debug version of MM... Here's what I found. When I launch it, the MediaMonkey DLNA service shuts down, and I don't see the server anymore. As soon as I close Med...

Moving your playlists to a new computer
If you have to install MM on a new computer, how do you preserve the work you put in to creating playlists? Is there a way to back them up and restore them to your new computer, or do you have start all over with configuring MM?
Thanks!
Thanks!
