Can someone please explain what each questions means? "Show AutoPlay actions for" Audio CD Playback Audio CD Ripping DVD Write Plaback CD/DVD Disk Burning I think I understand those, but not sure. "Show context-text menu actions for: Play in MediaMonkey Play next in MediaMonkey Play l...

Changing mm.db path to music

In 2012, I successfully figured out how to move my music from a computer to a flash drive. It took some doing and I thought I wrote good enough notes so I could do it again. But I didn't. I had an emergency need for that flash drive, so I moved the files to an external hard drive temporarily. Now I ...

Playlist in folder view

It's been years since I used MediaMonkey. But it seems like I used to be able to view the playlists for a particular song or album while managing music in the computer folders view. Regardless of whether I am mistaken or not about that, I certainly have wished for it now. Let me say that a different...

Re: Moving playlists etc. to portable install

Had to pull away and start fresh this morning. I was WAY over thinking it. AND I must have previously installed MediaMonkey on the other computer. So I made sure all MM files were off the computer. Then I reinstalled Media Monkey portable on the flash drive. Then I added my mm.db backup to the flash...

Understanding portable installation and synchronization

I think I need some basic understanding. When synchronization is discussed in the help files, is it just talking about synchronizing using different software stored on a portable device? When you use the Portable installation, what does that mean? Where is are all the instructions, etc. stored? How ...

Re: Moving playlists etc. to portable install

Yes. But I had previously done a regular install on the same computer. I wonder if there are some latent files that did not uninstall that I can't find.

Re: Moving playlists etc. to portable install

Sorry, I guess I'm not explaining myself very well. Let me try again. My goal is to get ALL music files and program files on a flash drive so I can access them from more than one computer, but when I open Media Monkey from the flash drive after installing the software, music files, mm.db and mediamo...

Re: Moving playlists etc. to portable install

Thank you for replying. I thought I had it figured out, but Media Monkey was accessing the files I had left on the desktop. I am talking about installing the music and program and everything on a flash drive which I can plug into any computer. But it keeps installing the database and ini file on the...

Moving playlists etc. to portable install

I can't seem to come up with these answers from what I have googled so far. 1) Does the portable install retrieve the playlist when you first open it? 2) If not, how do I access them and use them on my portable device? I have put many hours into this project so far. And I can't believe such a good p...

Re: Changing from desktop to portable install

Lowlander wrote:No, you need to do it as a clean install.
So I'm not sure I understand. Do you run the desktop version on your desktop and then have a portable version on a stick or external hard drive and then sync them or what?

Changing from desktop to portable install

Can I reinstall Media Monkey as portable version over the top of the desktop version? If not, how do I change from accessing my music and playlists to a portable version. BTW, I already have the music on the flash drive and it is working fine that way. But I would like to be able to take the music w...

Re: Renaming folders

Thanks, Nohitter151. I figured it out. I simply needed to be in the correct location in locations to do it.

Renaming folders

When I try to rename a location folder, I get an error message telling me I can't do that, but now why. Why?
