Re: MediaMonkey for Android FAQ

Will MM for Android be able to work as a "remote", to control MM on a PC via WiFi? Like the nice and very handy MMRemote by Erlend Dahl?

Re: 4.1 Upgrade and Collections

BTW. if you want to do a clean install: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=54 (note that Play History, Playlists and unsaved tags will be lost). Back on the original thread topic, I did a clean install of MediaMonkey following these inst...

Re: 4.1 Upgrade and Collections

Does the Library or the Player think the files have negative duration. Try opening a file from Windows Explorer in MediaMonkey to see if it still fails. Also see: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=90 The player thinks the duration is ne...

Re: 4.1 Upgrade and Collections

Started MM just now, and everything looked normal. Except when I try to play any of the tracks, nothing happens. Closer inspection shows MM now thinks they have negative durations! Every single track! Was all working fine yesterday after the upgrade (except the missing Collections, obviously), it fo...

Re: 4.1 Upgrade and Collections

Collections are saved in the database, so you may not be using the same database. You should do a search (Include hidden files) for MM.DB on your PC to see if you can see which database should be used and which is used (use size and last modified as clues). Thanks, will have a look around for that ...

Re: 4.1 Upgrade and Collections

Had a look in Manage Collections as well, nothing there either. Also checked that the Gold licence is still active, and it is ("About" says Gold version is enabled). The music database is still there. But all the Collections have disappeared, and also all the rules for sorting music into t...

4.1 Upgrade and Collections

Just upgraded to 4.1 (downloaded and installed the new version, which replaced the previously installed version). I have an MM Gold licence, and had a number of Collections defined, together with rules for automatically sorting files into these Collections when synchronising MM with my media server....

Ah, that sounds like what I was after. Only saw criteria based on tags, which would mean editing loads of files again....

Will try the path criteria (y)

Re: Automatically assign files to collections

Thanks. So if I understand this right, basically anything that is a music file (mp3, flac, etc.) ends up in the "music" collection, and then I need to manually change the "type" in file properties to get them into a different collection? Is that right? Is it possible to assign a ...

Automatically assign files to collections

Is there a way to get files automatically assigned to collections based on the location they were scanned from? For example: Files imported from the directory "music" automatically placed in collection "music" Files imported from the directory "jazz" automatically place...

Re: Removing unavailable files from library

Found the automatic scan option, with that turned on it seems to work. So the delete of obsolete files only works through the automatic scan, not through the manual scan option? A bit odd, but hey.

Re: Removing unavailable files from library

Add/rescan does not remove obsolete files, I have tried that already. Even with the delete setting in options.

Removing unavailable files from library

Hi,

How do you get mediamonkey to detect and delete unavailable files (deleted, or moved)? I have ticked the option to delete such files, but whenever I rescan the library I end up with duplicate entries for files which have been moved or deleted.
