Surface RT seems OK in this respect, except with 24-bit FLAC as noted separately.
Update: not so fast. It works for a bit with the screen blanked but seems to time out eventually. Hmm.

Very pleased to have this app, THANK YOU. I have a large collection of FLAC files, some 24-bit. If I'm playing a 24-bit FLAC on the Surface RT, it works fine at first.
