Does MM4 reports composer/conductor/bitspersample, and how?

Can someone inform me if MM4 UPnP layer reports the following metadata to the control point: composer, conductor, bitspersample ? The control point I use (BubbleUPnP) does not see those when using MM as the media server. I can however see those with BubbleUPnP when using other servers (like AssetUPn...

I installed the debug version and tried all day to replicate the problem, without success. No idea what happened. I will keep trying in the next few days.

Access violation with Play to

I would like to report the following issue with MM when "Play to .." is set to an external UPnP renderer. If no track is being played by MM, and something is sent for playing to this renderer through an independent UPnP controller (say controller B), MM starts after about a minute to throw...

Gapless playback when playing to an external UPNP renderer

It maybe a bit late to raise this issue about MM 4.1, now that it is in RC phase. But here it is. When playing to an external UPNP device ("Play to"), there seems no way to achieve gapless playback, which ranks # 1 in my priority list. For some albums (eg classical opera), this makes for a...

Re: Switching from external to internal player fails

My mistake (???) I feel a bit stupid now, realizing that the problem seems related to the external player used, in my case a SimAudio Mind 180D. This renderer does not allow volume control through UPnP (only through their proprietary app), so volume must be adjusted manually on the amp. The "pr...

Switching from external to internal player fails [#11696]

After having selected a UPNP external player with "Choose Player" in MM 4.1.0-1685, the sound is correctly heard on the device. However, switching back to "Internal Player" produces no sound at all. Stopping and restarting the player does not work. Restarting MM does not solve th...

Re: Bluetooth sound issues: noise when interacting with the

After wandering through Android setttings, I realized I had the "Touch sound" settings ON. Setting this to OFF cured my problem. I was not aware of the existence of this setting. None of the music apps I used so far seem to pay attention to it and all behave as if it was set to OFF. Does a...

Bluetooth audio: noise when interacting with the UI [#11619]

MMA is a great piece of software. However, I experience the following problem with MMA version 1.0.4.0202 on my Nexus 7 tablet with KitKat v4.4.2 installed. If I select a track from a UPNP server (or my local Music directory, it makes no difference) and play it through Bluetooth to my amp equipped w...

Re: Discriminating 24bit from 16bit flac music files

Hi Lowlander, I am using the official 4.0.7 MM release, in which the "sample rate" criteria does not exist. I installed a 4.1.0 beta release, and indeed this criteria shows up in the list of criteria to define searches and collections. So "sample rate" seems to have appeared some...

Re: Discriminating 24bit from 16bit flac music files

Thanks. I thik you are referring to "bitrate (kbs)". Would be nice though to have explicit criteria for sample rate (*not* bitrate) and number of bits. Other music managers I know of feature those (Foobar 2000, Asset UPnP).

Discriminating 24bit from 16bit flac music files

Could anyone help me setting up search criteria to select music files (flac format) based on the bit sampling (16 vs 24 bit) and the sampling frequency (44.1KHz, 48 KHz, 88.2 KHz, 96 Kh, etc). For ex., select 24bit and 96KHz music files. Among the properties offered by MM (4.0.7), the closest one I ...

Re: problem witmultiple artists: last one picked; composer n

Hi Lowlander,

Yes. Other upnp servers I tried (Foobar2000, Twonky) do effectively output Composer metadata when connected to the same set of audio files.

Re: problem witmultiple artists: last one picked; composer n

Hi Lowlander, With the same UPNP client (BubbleUPNP, Android) connected to a different UPNP server (Foobar2000, TwonkyMedia) based on the same set of audio files, I see that the Artist list shows the full Artist tag values (Artist 1; Artist 2; etc) with Foobar and Twonky, whereas only the last one i...

problem witmultiple artists: last one picked; composer name

I noticed this odd behavior with MM UPNP server for tracks with multiple artists separated with semi-colons in the Artist tag. The list sent to the UPNP client contains in that case the LAST artist name, not the first one. When the tag holds only one name, that name is correctly sent. I was able to ...

Re: Connecting the Stream magic 6 to the Media Monkey Server

I do not for myself experiment such a problem wirh MM4 DLNA server and the StreamMagic 6 network player. I have issues however with the way the MM DLNA player outputs its lists, which makes using the server with StreamMagic very problematic, especially if you use the StreamMagic app on a small displ...
