Re: Gold update
I already have Gold installed. I got a message to update to latest version. The only options on the website are Regular update or to pay for Gold again. What is the best way to update my existing paid for Gold version? Those aren't the only options. If you're looking at the "download" page (http://...

Re: Also Not Exactl A Bug... But ! [#11143]
" '90s " is correct because it's an abbreviation. " 90's " is unnecessary apostrophe wastage. The apostrophe is serving no function at all there.Peke wrote:I'm curious, from point Non native English speaker 1990s looks logical but what about 90's and '90s?

Re: Very Annoying Bug
Well, I don't get this. But what is the "admin" dialogue? I'm still not clear about this. Is it the user account dialogue, or something else?
What does it actually say?

Re: Very Annoying Bug
What do you mean by "admin access"? I have to click yes to a user account control dialogue every time I launch MM on my Windows system, but that's not a bug it's an annoying feature of Windows. Once I've done that I won't get asked again unless I close down MM and reopen it. You get something differ...

Re: NAS
I have all my music on a NAS. However, I long since gave up trying to *run* MM from the NAS. To make sure the mm.db file and other files are shared between machines on the network, I use synctoy.

Re: Song Length questions
Lowlander has suggested that MM will calculate "track length" based on a formula. Inevitably, that's not going to be 100% accurate (although, define "song length"! Is it when the last note disappears? What about all those records where the artists have deliberately left silence at the beginning or e...

There's
Entire Library > Files to Edit > Dead Links
Does that do what you want?

Re: MM on two laptops, one database.
I used to have my database on a NAS, but found it pretty much unusable - lots of errors that were not fixable. It seems to be down to the way that the database works, and so there's nothing that I could do about it. What I now do is backup my database to the NAS, and then use that as the master copy...

Re: Help with the Search Function
Can someone please tell me how to ONLY bring up the results when I search for something? I can't for the life of me find this anywhere. When I search, presently, my entire library shows, and it simply highlights the next item in the library meeting my search criteria. Any help would be greatly appr...

Re: Setting up with separate INIs to allow multiple librarie
Sometimes the workflow we want to use is actually the cause of the problem. Think again! Collections are absolutely the way to go, and as other have said you don't want startup scanning switched on. In my set up, I only make changes to files in MM, so life is a bit simpler. All new music is put into...

Art for missing cover art
I have some albums, mainly but not exclusively compilations I've made myself, which have no cover art. Because most of them were compiled by me, there's no point scanning in the covers, and I don't really want to do that anyway. MM of course just gives the album a default image. But what I want is a...

Re: Manage Collections
So long as you've got your music tagged with the correct genres, this is easy. I have collections for Various Artists, New Music (held in a particular folder), music for a particular artist, and music for named people in my household. I use playlists for Christmas music, as it happens, though I can ...

Re: Some tracks greyed out and can't be updated
When you say you can't add them back, what do you mean? What process do you follow to try and do that, and what happens instead? Are you removing/deleting the greyed out tracks and then adding/rescanning from the drive, or doing something else? Have you checked tools > options > library for criteria...

Re: hello i am new here need help thanks
Perhaps it is worth emphasising that although "unknown" is always listed, there will only ever be anything listed under it if there are indeed "unknowns" to be found. If your tagging is complete, there will be no unknowns. And nothing gets moved on disk.
