Re: How to update genres when syncing?

#metoo ;-\ MM Gold LT 4.1.25.1895 vs MM mobile for Android 1.3.6.0887 (trial) Metadata such as ratings, play and skip count/s appear to be syncing back to server from mobile device, but when I change a genre on my mobile device it does not sync to server; i tested this with a track having an empty g...

that would still involve a lot of manual undertaking/s. I'm looking for a way to automate.

Re: a simple script for genre/s management?

:) that's viable as long as I remain inside MediaMonkey's cosmos.

My question aims at using music also in dumber surroundings such as Emby or Plex. They have nowhere near enough means to filter as smartly.

a simple script for genre/s management?

Hello all, after years of trying to deal with genres in many mostly frustrating ways + now looking at potentially making my music collection accessible on the go using either Emby or Plex I'm feeling the urge to get a handle on my genre tagging even more. :-? @trixmoto's GenreFinder appears to be de...

Re: MediaMonkey freezes on add / (re)scan files :(

huh. MM just opened the "send a bug report" dialog - but once I had pressed "Send" it crashed; I don't even know if the report actually got sent or if it went down with the application :/ [add/edit:] OK, located the MediaMonkey.elf and submitted it to support via HelpDesk as > Ticket ID #JGV-190-852...

Re: MediaMonkey freezes on add / (re)scan files :(

What version of MMW are you using? MM Gold 4.1.15.1830 Does it happen at the same place every time? It is usually a bad file. I'm currently trying to establish if it does / is. Thanks for the hint re You can do a debug log by following instructions found here Will let you know what I turn up. Cheer...

MediaMonkey freezes on add / (re)scan files :(

[I'm pretty sure this was asked and answered before :/ but searching for "freeze" + "add" yielded too many hits to handle, so pls pardon me if it did.] Hello @ll, recently, when I try to rescan directories, MM will freeze somewhere around 700+ tracks (of somewhere upwards of 45k). Could someone poin...

reliven the old AutoRate?

Hello crowd; when I started using MM a long time ago, there was a tiny plug-in (I seem to remember) called "Auto Rate" (not AutoRateAccurate) which doesn't seem to be around anymore. It did something simple but beautiful: Whenever a track was skipped, it decreased its stars rating + whenever a track...

Re: Getting MediaMonkey and all playlists etc. fully portabl

After a lot of wrestling I finally managed. I had all the steps written down, then my laptop froze :/ So here's just the rough retracing of the steps i took: hiding all inis from MM: caused it to create a new one and - more important - convert the DB :) But. MM insisted on putting its stuff in the l...

Re: Getting MediaMonkey and all playlists etc. fully portabl

That really should not be necessary, as you were already running MM3. That means you already have an MM.DB file . OK, I had indeed completely missed out to actually check C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\ - was sure I had done that while in fact i had not. Sorry bout dat. I ha...

Re: Getting MediaMonkey and all playlists etc. fully portabl

OK, I'm hitting a brick wall in the form of my inability to convert my database from .mdb to .DB :-? I tried many tricks which I spotted in various locations across this board including: - going back to MediaMonkey_2.5.5.998 (didn't convert .mdb on opening) - going back to MediaMonkey_3.0.1.1131 (di...

Re: Getting MediaMonkey and all playlists etc. fully portabl

thanks. So I tried to do an install of MM4 Portable. Looked all good. Up to a point. Good Thing I had backed up the previous install :) Turns out I'm havin trouble because my old install still ran the ancient MediaMonkey.mdb file without ever complaining about it or converting it. MM4 would not have...

Re: Getting MediaMonkey and all playlists etc. fully portabl

OK, so I moved my install of MediaMonkey (Gold, Ver 3.2.5.1306). My USB Drive is assigned drive letter M:\ on all 3 machines I want to use the installation with (a Vista-Machine which held the original installation, an XP netbook and a Windows 7 workstation). MediaMonkey resides on said drive in M:\...
