Re: 2 songs in 1 track...

Looks like I may be forced to the file editing route -- I tried using the start/stop time indexes on a duplicate copy of the song file. Looks like MM has a glitch - when it plays the "embedded" track (start index somewhere in the middle), it spits out a fraction of a second of the start of...

Re: 2 songs in 1 track...

I'm sure that would work too, but seems like even more work than creating a duplicate of the file with alternate start/stop indexes...

2 songs in 1 track...

Sometimes artists do this inexplicably weird thing where they'll bury a "hidden track" in another track - so it's 2 songs in 1 (ridiculously long) track, separated by several minutes of silence. (I've got at least 2 songs in my music library that do this, maybe more). I'm wondering if ther...

Re: 'Find more from same >' and the media tree

If the node is going to change anyway, then what's the difference? "Artist > Your artist" vs "Search > Your artist"? Lowlander originally made the distinction to suggest that the 'find more...' was a means to go to a specific node in the tree, rather than being a search function...

Re: 'Find more from same >' and the media tree

You can't edit Artist or Album comment in search. Not sure what you mean - when you select any group of files in the main window, regardless of what search or tree node they came from, you can select the whole list (or any subset) and do a group edit on anything in the properties box to change the ...

Re: 'Find more from same >' and the media tree

Not true - you can do that in search: select all the files and bring up the property dialog to do a group edit. That's how I normally do it, I don't use the tree nodes for anything. I see your point though - I guess that could be useful if that's how you used the interface (which I don't). I guess I...

Re: 'Find more from same >' and the media tree

Yes, that is annoying, it should only repopulate the main grid not change the tree. But it wouldn't make sense. If you're on "Now playing", for example, and you click "Find more from same -> Artist", and then it displays only tracks from the artist, but the node shows "Now ...

'Find more from same >' and the media tree

This is a behavior of MM that just drives me batty, I'd love to hear that I can turn it off, but if not then I'll list it here for my wish list: When you right-click and then find more from same (artist, album, etc), in addition to displaying the search results in the main window it also automatical...

Re: ripped FLAC files have pops & clicks

Well that seems to have fixed it. Didn't actually have to re-analyze the tracks, just reset the value for "level playback volume to:".
Thanks lowlander...

Re: Playing .M4P Files Purchased in iTunes

This sounds familiar. What version of iTunes are you running? A few months back my nephew surreptitiously upgraded my iTunes to the latest version, and afterwards I had exactly the same symptoms you're describing. I uninstalled it, reinstalled an older version and voila - back to normal. I run MM on...

Re: ripped FLAC files have pops & clicks

Sounds good, will try that this evening when I've got a few minutes. I understand about the high db value & artifacts, but I do note that on this particular CD the volume tag levels are relatively small compared to other discs I've imported - the tracks on this disc (the problem disc) range from...

Re: ripped FLAC files have pops & clicks

Yeah, I do "analyze volume" on every track I import, then usually have level playback volume enabled - until it starts popping & clicking :-?
I changed the target volume for leveling to 95db...
I'll experiment with that & see if it makes a difference.

Re: ripped FLAC files have pops & clicks

Well... I ripped the CD again, changed the flac compression to level 2 (total shot in the dark, no idea if it's a factor). I must have been mistaken with the previous go at it, because now it definitely IS dependent on whether 'level playback volume' is enabled. I run into this all the time with MP3...

ripped FLAC files have pops & clicks

Hello, After ripping several hundred of my CDs this issue just er, "popped" up on only 1 CD -- I rip to FLAC (compression lvl 4), run "analyze volume" (my understanding is that this only adds a tag for "volume bias" to the file, doesn't change the file at all?). On play...
