I am not aware of installing a custom/third party patch. I have downloaded some Windows 7 themes but only from the MS themes site, I assume microsoft's own theme's don't apply or do they?

I found the "problem".
I use Actual Window Minimizer (www.actualtools.com/windowminimizer/) and strangely enough it has an issue with mediamonkey (skinned). I added MediaMonkey (skinned) to it's exeption list and now its working perfectly.

i was aware of the translating service but i'm terrible at reading weird translations so I just always forget the option :) I however have been down the suggested path already when it didnt work the first time, fyi I use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall and Registry First Aid7 to clean up registry crap...

the QT uninstall/install made no difference. As I said there is no update I missed, my Windows is completely updated, and i'm on a 120 Mbps /10 Mbps fiber line so don't worry about my connection.

I noticed the problem when i installed MM this weekend and just found time to report it today, the computer has been rebooted since the install several times and there is no update i missed, btw winxp pro running.

i will uninstall/install QT now and let you know if that helped

I am using 3.1.1.1261 and it was a first time install, not installed anything extra.

When I start MM it starts and then exits, i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it but no luck. The non-skinned version works perfectly.
