Re: Why are some albums and other out of order?

I'd like to update this for the benefit of everyone. Essentially, now I am using my old winamp format for titling albums, which is "YEAR - DISCNUMBER - ALBUM" with the exception that I am keeping the correct info where it is and inputting said format in the "category" field. This...

Running MM on two partitions

As mentioned in another thread, This is the solution to a problem I've been having regarding playback. But now, I have another issue I'd like to hear opinions about. Basically, I have MM running on two partitions and want to be able to import whatever settings I have for one instance to the other. I...

Re: Running out of buffer.

Just updating the progress of this: Right now I have installed two OS on my computer. After serveral days of trying several things, The conclusion has been to run a "dedicated" MM in an unofficial install of XP that is only 200 Megs. This seems to sortout all the problems really. I also de...

Re: Compress CBR to VBR?

I would be weary of using VBR at all if you use DSP's. In my experience, DSP's sound a bit different processing a 320KBPS file verses 160. I'm not claiming this is a fact, but it seems the DSP's have more effect the lower the bitrate. I don't seem to get any of this degraded quality business either ...

Re: Why are some albums and other out of order?

I've had this problem in the past. If you add leading zeros it should sort this mess out. However, MM doesn't seem to care if leading zeros are there or not, it always displays correctly for me, even in the case that an album has some tracks with leading zeros and others without. Also check that the...

Re: Media Monkey for High End Systems - what settings?

I'm in the business and I don't mean to come off the wrong way here, but why even involve windows or any program in what you are trying to do? I haven't checked myself and don't know if this exists, but shouldn't there be some kind of hard drive to DAC interface available? My mother has a very cheap...

Re: Running out of buffer.

cont.... There was more changes, notably, Turning off tooltips might have been what stopped it. So oddly enough, in the last few hours, this has stopped. Now I have to figure out why: I opened and played some videos in WMP. Does this thing load some kind of driver/program that makes your sound card ...

Running out of buffer.

Earlier today, I had this problem that couldn't really be fixed. It seems that something is happening that makes the buffer gradually go down to 0% resulting in a the song hanging on playback. It isn't that the buffer isn't able to catch up so it eventually goes to 0%, it actually sits at around 95-...

Re: What kind of user are you?

I'm new to the software, but I'll have it figured out with the best of them within a month. according to my resume, i'm an expert at windows based audio applications. I've been a sound engineer for 9 years also, so that helps too. I know what i'm doing moreso with sound manipulation than software tw...

Re: Any way to stop editing in Library?

Yeah, I only saw the option to change the behaviour of the title string, so for now I guess I'll have to be sure to click on only the title. The bigger concern is how much resources, if any, this feature is using, as you can see I am lucky to be able to manage to play anything with that kind of ridi...

Re: Any way to stop editing in Library?

Okay. I'll try that out. I'll look to see if there's an option for the old autocomplete thing, or look for a script.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't consider looking in there for that option.

Re: Any way to stop editing in Library?

Here's what I'm running, don't know if it contributes to any problems: CPU - 800Mhz Intel Celeron, Priority - Programs RAM - 120Mb, 250-500Mb Page File, Priority - Programs OS - Win XP SP2 Audio Card - ALi Accelerated WDM driver, best settings possible. K-Mixer priority is "Above Normal" M...

Any way to stop editing in Library?

Hello everyone! I recently converted from Winamp 5.55 in the last three of four days and am excited about MM. It has everything I need. Congradualtions on such a great product! There is one feature I did not see on the wishlist or in the preferences I would like to know more about. I want to disable...
