For the information of readers, Version 2024.3005 has a control for playing one track at a time as described by Peke above.

Re: Setting a "Start time" fails to skip to beginning
.. it still completely failed to start at the start time I asked for, instead starting at 0:00 on three different tracks ... Yes, the same has happened to me. Unfortunately, the formatting of times in the Details pane is misleading. For an unmodified track, the Start time: in Filecontextmenu > Prop...

Re: Newly added duplicate drive path for every song
The help text at Lowlander's reference to re-assign drive may not be immediately helpful because you will not find the path Collections > Locations in the media tree at left of the MM screen. This confusion arises because MM help uses the word "Collections" as shorthand for "highest l...

Re: Easy Question: Sort Order
Assuming that you are in the main file list (in the centre of the screen) then you may have to scroll sideways to see the track number column before you can click on it. If it is not in that list (It should be) then you can add it by right clicking on the column heading and chosing Add Columns. Bewa...

Re: ORGANIZE COLLECTION
You can sort on Genre, use the Genre node on the Media Tree, and use AutoPlaylists per Genre. Yes there are lots of ways to sort and group your music in MediaMonkey, but first you have to get a value for genre tagged on all of your tracks. I don't particularly use genre myself because it is much a ...

Re: Mediamonkey 5 v2024.0.0.3003 stalls when inserting "enchanced cds"
I had a similar problem with a couple of enhanced CDs, but then also not a problem with some other enhanced CDs. There are apparently a variety of types of ehnanced CDs and MM's balking seems to be a problem with specific types - don't know which. I found that I had to end up getting one enhanced CD...

Re: Setting a "Start time" fails to skip to beginning
I also utilise the start and end time settings to get specific subsets of long tracks, but have found that it can be tricky to get the new settings recognised. In particular, if you edit a file that is in the Now Playing list for start and finish time, then you have to remove that file from the Now ...

Re: MM 2024 install folder
I did as suggested above and just renamed my existing portable install from "C:\MediaMonkey 5" to "C:\MediaMonkey" then when each new portable install is upgraded it will overwrite the old one but keep the settings/skins etc. Sorry, forgot to state that one of my goals was to ke...

Re: MM 2024 install folder
I have used the portable installation forever, the reasons are lost in the mists of time. The new folder default makes sense from a Dev perspective but is a user-end PITA for all of the future reinstalls we'll be doing for the evolutions of the new version. My plan for dealing with the Installer new...

Re: Data entered in Properties disappears
Larry, I routinely edit metadata in Mediamonkey and it does a great job of preserving it. In order for Lowlander to help, you will have to be very specific about which part of which program you are in when this happens. Your existing description does not make clear what part of Mediamonkey you are u...

Re: Searching to replace
Hi, I also want to use Tag from Filename to remove a Composer field from the Title in some tracks. Here's an example pathname with a variable composer field at the end of the song title: E:\MediaMonkey Music Files\Harry Nilsson\Nilsson Schmilsson CD\Harry Nilsson _ Nilsson Schmilsson CD _ 01 _ Gotta...

Re: Playing list/now playing bugs
Hi Rob For what it's worth, I only use the Now Playing list in the " Play in Displayed Order " style that you described in your linked post. I haven't been concerned about shuffle simply taking me to another place in an otherwised unchanged Now Playing list, but I'd be happy to have shuffl...

Song Start Delay
Hi, I'm using MM5 in an environment where timeliness of playing a song is important. At the moment I am frequently experiencing a delay between my initiation of play now (either via double click with nothing playing, or via right click menu > play now) and MM's start of progressing the play counter ...

[REQ] Properties>Details>Start and End Time Units
Hi, On the Details tab of the Properties dialog box it is possible to set a start time and an end time for a track. Please see the attached image. https://i.ibb.co/kK7qVKV/Starttime-Endtime.png I get the impression that the start and finish values are added to the track's DB data when the track is i...

Re: Playback failed. Music file inaccessible in MM 5 Debug
I still think this is way too complicated.... Hi Rob, I've been with MM for 15 or so years and have had to migrate several times. I have always used a portable installation and paid close attention to the migration guidance, but yes I always approach the task with trepidation and will not attempt i...
