Re: MP3 to OGG conversions incomplete

Thank you for taking care of this problem, but unfortunately I have to say that I actually did lose also sound samples. Under the following link you can find five files: https://e1.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=kZyyhFZFihXj6SL5kj5cWBdbjwrzSoIl3ik One is an original MP3 file (under the download link ...

Re: MP3 to OGG conversions incomplete

After examining some more files, I can say that the cut of 528 samples does not seem to be consistent. In some cases also samples are added at the beginning of files. From my understanding of the OGG format, however, the number of samples of the original file should not be changed at all, and there ...

Re: MP3 to OGG conversions incomplete

I think MP3 and OGG are both lossy formats, MP3 having the property to sometimes add null samples when conversions into MP3 are performed. However, I do not expect to lose samples by any kind of conversion. Viewing some of my files in a DAW revealed that the MM algorithm always loses exactly 528 sam...

MP3 to OGG conversions incomplete [#18717]

When converting files from MP3 to OGG MediaMonkey always cuts off a certain number of samples from the beginning of each track (exactly 528 samples at sample rate 44.1 kHz). I observed this effect for conversions done with variable as well as with fixed bitrate, for MM versions 2433 and the new 2531...

Re: How to revert an analyzed volume track? [#16492]

One reason why nobody has requested this yet may also be that this value is probably not put into practice very often. The vast majority of calculated album gain values is anyway in the negative dB regime which avoids clipping automatically. Still, because it's part of the standard now, I think it's...

Re: How to revert an analyzed volume track?

Is there any special reason why MM does not use/store a value for replaygain_album_peak although it would be a valid parameter according to the ReplayGain standard? And additional question: Will I run into any problems if I use files without this value on programs other than MM? I'm asking this beca...

Re: Problem with Volume Leveling

Sorry for weighing in again, but after some more experimenting I think to have found the ultimate solution to this problem. The volume leveling in MM5 can behave exactly as in MM4, with the following condition: in the general options the box for Clipping Prevention must be unchecked. In MM4 this box...

Re: Problem with Volume Leveling

I used MediaMonkey for this which I practically use for all tagging purposes. I never faced any problem with these files so far. They work fine with any player I use, inclusive of volume leveling. For future use I will maybe redo my files with automatic volume analysis to obtain the missing peak val...

Re: Problem with Volume Leveling

Okay, I think I found the trick now. MM5 does obviously only apply volume leveling if a peak value is specified in the file (in this case also clipping protection is possible now). Because I entered the replay gain values for most of my files manually they do not contain the peak values which are cr...

Re: Problem with Volume Leveling

Files are tagged correctly, of course. With exactly the same files no problem occurs in MM4. Seems strange to me. Maybe I should try a reinstall or try upgrading to a more recent version. Will see.

Problem with Volume Leveling

Dear forum, I'm trying for some time now to put volume leveling into work in MM5 but didn't succeed. In MM4, which I have still installed, volume leveling works completely fine. But by using the same files with the same settings (see: https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZ8UhVZE2UuT0TG82Jh6aTkhU...
