Re: RENAME MULTIPLE ALBUMS
In order to have Mediamonky remove a certain number of characters from the beginning of the filename, youy can use a mask as follows: .\$mid(<Filename>,4,240) the .\ keeps the same path as you had, ie places the new file back in the same folder. the $mid(<Filename>,4,240) part keeps all characters f...

Re: [3018] Runaway CPU
I have tested this several times now, and on my system it always happens. Anytime MM2024 3019 is put into full screen mode, the CPU goes up to about 20% continuously. I have tried this with other web based apps such as Edge browser, Brave Browser, etc and none of them do this. I noticed when viewing...

Re: [3018] Runaway CPU
Please re-read my last edited post, and try the maximized state, and watch task manager, see what it does for you. I don't think any debug log is required, as there is no crash.
I have had no further instances of process left in memory after closing.

Re: [3018] Runaway CPU
No, in this case I think the PC was put to sleep after Mm was closed. I had another instance just after installing MM2019 where Windows crashed, and needed a hard reset to restart, but so far not reproducible. I will keep eye open for reproducible circumstances - one of which is as follows. Mediamon...

Re: [3018] Runaway CPU
Restarted my laptop after having it sleep for several hours, now it (3019) is running my CPU at 25% even though the app was closed, ie no longer active on the toolbar, before putting it to sleep. My fan was going so I checked my task manager, and there is a MM2024 process running at 20%. I restarted...

Yup, same here, a simple command to backup the database results in error "cannot read value of nul..."
However, it seems the requested backup was in fact created and zipped.

Re: [3018] Runaway CPU
That is interesting, I was just going to post about the same thing, also MM3018 I had it running for long enough to play about 5 tracks to my Chromecast speaker, then let it finish at the end of the plying list. Went to check on RAM useage, and founs about 100kb similarly for windows explorer, and a...

Re: Full of bugs
Does 12,000 albums mean something like 120,000 tracks?? Wow!! I have only 14k tracks. If you can get MM running long enough, I would attempt to make a backup of your database using the menus - file, manage database. If that does not work, you could find the file "MM5.db" in your appdata/ro...

Re: Full of bugs
How much free memory does your system have? A screenshot of your task manager might be useful...
After the first crash, did you do a full restart of Windows to clear out any residual bits?
I would try to run MM again after such a restart, and without running anything else, and see what happens.

Re: Adding MM2024 to Explorer context menu
After normal installing latest beta 3018, my context menu still has the old text "Play in MediaMonkey 5", but it does open MM2024 and play it there.
Is that what your concern is, or are you completely lacking any MM context menu items??

Re: Restore Database
Select music node, and "All Tracks" subnode on the left.
Look underneath the main window in the bottom left side, just below the scroll bar if you have one.
In small print it should say total number of files (tracks), number of gigabytes, and total play hours.

Re: Restore Database
The rescan should find all the files that actually exist in your new PC in any of the paths that are shown. Does the number of tracks in the database match the number of music files you have?? Do you have duplicate files, ie more files in the database that on the PC? If so you can check if it is any...

No more betas???
Hello, Mediamonkey We seem to be stuck in a sort of limbo lately... - No more updates for 5.1 beta, where we have several intractable bugs, and no updates to V2024 similarly, we have build 3005 dated March 13th, and I see on the Bugfix database that you are working on Build 3017+ - Really don't want...
