Is it possible to pause or block file monitoring when opening MM? I have a huge db and this phase takes too long and often hangs for reasons I couldn't understand and slows down other tasks, such as reordering the data visualization or applying a delay between two songs.

Absolutely the same path.

II suspect that using a program other than MM to play my music can create these duplicates. I remember that, just before I detected the duplication, I had used Winamp as a test for music player.

There are no duplicate fields; I mislabeled the subject of my message.
Someone else from the MP3tag board suggested to check if I use autotagging in MM (MM4 on my PC) but I'm not sure where to search/modify this tool.
