The Genre sub-node has a (unique?) View named Grid (Categories).
It can escape from the Genre sub-node, after which it becomes available in every sub-node.
I looks slightly different to the normal Grid views (smaller thumbs), but works OK. But it is confusing because next time you open open MM5 it will no longer be available outside of the Genre sub-node.
Steps:
- turn Display Sub-nodes off in the Media Tree panel
- navigate to a Genre sub-node, and change View to Grid (by category)
- toggle Display Sub-nodes on
- navigate to different sub-node
- ===> Grid (by category) becomes available in every sub-mode
- available via the dropdown menu
- is included in the cycle when toggling through the view using the control on the toolbar
