There is a bug in the current version of the Android System Webview application that crashes MMA and other applications when opening certain app windows. In MMA, it crashes when opening the player view. The home screen and various list views are unaffected. Other affected apps include multiple email clients and AccuWeather.
Again, this is NOT a bug in MMA. I'm posting here in case anyone else runs into this issue.
The fix is to uninstall updates to the Android System Webview application, and turn off autoupdates on it until Google fixes it. The current version causing this is dated March 12.
